I hope Dems don’t capitulate to this pathetic attempt at cracking our solidarity

These efforts by the GOP are disgusting, repulsive, and are filled with misinformation. They are being used as distractions from their failures on key issues. We can only hope that the voters in swing states can see through this nonsense. Interesting how trans women (as opposed to trans men) are preferentially the subject of their attacks, especially regarding sports participation. Nothing about this is legitimate, it’s all about sensationalism and throwing red meat to their MAGA base.

“Interesting how trans women are preferentially the subject of their attacks…” Trans women are just too overwhelming beautiful for them!

Exactly. I think the GOP hates us because they’re embarrassed that they’re attracted to us!

The framing the transphobes always have around trans men, when they notice their existence, is "these poor confused girls are just tomboys and it would be a tragedy if they make bad choices that keep them from being mothers." There's even a TERF line that insists that gender affirming care for trans boys = anti-lesbian conversion therapy. It's bizarre and unhinged.

It's just repackaged misogyny. They think trans women are men, and therefore are strong and dangerous, so all the transphobic messaging about us portrays us as predators; they think trans men are women, and therefore weak and vulnerable, so all the messaging about them portrays them as victims. That TERFs have picked that shit up and run with it just pulls back the curtain on how fake and shallow their "feminism" really is.

Look at this one, they want to steal the election by illegally suppressing trans votes. If Rump wins the election, the question arises: is the outcome valid?

Another important point: long after this has passed, is that we will not forget what these bigots have done. Trans people will remain strong, and thrive, and prosper, desire a difficult few years ahead. When the dust has settled and we have moved into a fully - and justifiably - progressive phase of society, we will never forget the devastating effects of those who tried to move us backward, and how deeply in the wrong they were. Kind of like the utter disdain that people now remember the Dred Scott decision of the 1850s with. In the event that an apology to us is ever offered, we look forward to answering it with the sneering contempt that it deserves - and that our collective trauma requires.

So, Senator Casey often voted to back the administration. So what? How often do GOP Senators vote as their party wishes?

It's a common tactic that the GOP senators have used to vote liberal in mixed consttuencies when their vote is not necessary to pass a Republican bill. This pleases their democratic constituents some of the time and makes them appear less right of center or more centrist. A certain woman senator from maine has made an art form of this. Can you do the Republican two step ?

This is just downright pathetic. I’d wonder if the GOP wants to lose the election but we all know that they plan to steal it like they have many times in the past.

May they do far worse on those grounds in the future, than they have in the past.

One can but hope, Erin.

Fingers crossed that the Republicans are indeed scoring some more own goals.

It's really astounding and quite flattering that we are so much bigger on some people's radar than so many other issues like taxes, education, infrastructure, social security, civil rights or health care. If we are the biggest problem in the lives and in the minds of these voters then surely they haven't any other cares in the world.

That's because their plans for all of that other shit consist entirely of "pillage, burn, laugh." We're just the smokescreen.

Plain old bullying by the republicans, it’s disgusting and tiresome, just mind your own F**king business!

It's very likely that the financial backers, many of them staunchly religious conservatives with deep pockets like Leonard Leo, want the trans attacks to spearhead the ad blitz without fully realizing that it's been a losing hill to die on.
