Excellent news and much thanks to Governor Evers. Sadly for WI, he is stepping down after this term and it is essential for LGBTQ+ rights that we get a Democrat as our next governor. A primary is underway, but in the general election, please think of us here in WI <3
This is so true. If GOP wins governor in 2026, I think in Wisconsin we'll likely become like Montana, where anti-trans laws get passed which are eventually struck down by the State Supreme Court but in the meantime are very harmful and disruptive to people.
In my opinion, it is better to wait until the Democratic primary race is over (after August 11) and support the candidate that wins. We have a crowded primary right now and several good candidates. List of them is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Wisconsin_gubernatorial_election
Your dollars will have more impact in the general election I think. Make a reminder, donate after August 11!
Another great thing everyone can do is set up a monthly recurring donation to the Wisconsin Democratic Party. Even a small amount helps. They are very good here in this state, and will get into gear launching the campaign of whoever wins the primary. There's only one remaining GOP candidate so he is already fundraising and campaigning, and the Dem will only have Aug 11 - Nov 4.
As a mostly lifelong Wisconsinite, I'm glad. But I'm increasingly anxious about this constant tension between the half of government that wants me to cease to exist, and the other half that's barely holding them back. It doesn't feel great that I'm one or two lost elections away from having to flee the home I love. 😞
I strongly support Governor Tony Evers for vetoing five anti-trans bills and standing firmly with Wisconsin’s LGBTQ+ community.
At a time when fear and discrimination are being pushed into law across the country, he chose compassion, equality, and basic human dignity.
Because these vetoes cannot be overridden, his actions provide real and lasting protection for transgender youth and families.
This is what leadership looks like — using the power of office to defend vulnerable communities and uphold the principle that everyone deserves respect, safety, and equal rights.
Thank you, Governor Evers, for standing on the right side of history.
Thank you Governor Evers. You have a stronger backbone than most of our U.S. Congress.
Sad these even reached his desk :/

Now is the time to send whatever dollars we can to this candidate!

Evers is a hero!!!!
I'm going to write him a thank you. I'm usually sending pleas and complaints but it's good to thank them when they get something right.
I am doing the same. I usually say "Thank you to you and your staff." Sometimes staffers move up.
Me, too!!
Hooray! Thank you, Erin, for a bit of good news🌹
Better than Idaho. Someone will go to jail for life in Idaho eventually

Just so you know, I consider myself a brickhouse!! I'm holding them back!!
Fellow Wisconsinite here! I totally feel this. I've lived here nearly my whole life as well.
Thank you for sharing.
Good news is so rare these days.
I’m really going to miss governor Evers! I’m so disappointed he’s not seeking reelection! 💔
