I love your name, too. Pretty appropriate for the NW! I used to live in Oregon. I get it. : )

I’m so sad I’m in one of the hateful states. I’d love to see a list of colleges ranked primarily by how safe it is to live in the sate.

I'm sad that you are sad. You might be able to do a little of this by using Erin's information in this story and compare it with the list of schools (ranked) produced by College Pride. Maybe Erin will hire you! ; ) Please keep going, you are loved and needed.

I hope that Michigan adds itself to this list before long. Governor Whitmer and the Democrats in the state legislature have made some progress in this direction, now they just need to take the next step.

Seems like there is a great chance of that happening. Wouldn't it be great if states started competing for who is most trans/non-binary friendly. THAT'S a competition worthy of PRIZES, like...our community living and thriving in those places!

I’m so grateful they did this but heartbroken that we are in a world where it’s needed 💔

I’m glad that ten states have sanctuary protections now. Unfortunately, all “safe” states that currently protect gender-affirming care are at future risk from 1) hostile national legislation, 2) executive orders, 3) judicial actions like what we saw with the abortion pill. Sanctuary states should be thinking hard about/evaluating whether, and how, they’d still be able to protect their trans residents if one or more of these scenarios happened

I think that sounds like something worth fighting for. Infinitely better than the race to the bottom going on in so many Republican controlled states. (Which is equally worth fighting against!)

Is Sanctuary State not the language always used as protections are written supporting trans youth and gender affirming care?, (shield laws ,is there a difference?) ? I find googling less than helpful on current lists. I see your map of 9 states and we are just needing clarification if they are "Sanctuary States? or do they refer to them as Shield States and the difference? Many thanks, the team at Trans Youth Equality Foundation is so thankful for your excellent work. contact@transyouthequality.org
