My transgender child has served in the military for more than 15 years with honor and distinction. Her career and family’s lives are now in the hands of a convicted felon and his odious henchmen. Despicable.

So sorry. I am worried they will go after trans care for adult dependents next since they did minor dependents.

No, they're going to ban gender affirming care for ALL Americans next, not just military families. It will happen in the next two to three weeks. All US Trans people will be forced to medically detransition or leave the country.

Hypocritical BS coming from two of the least honorable or disciplined human beings ever to appear in government: Trump and Hegseth. Naturally they have zero details on how this is supposed to be implemented, just like they have zero legal justification for it.

This is far from the end of it. We are in a national crisis and it will get worse. I am shocked by how nonchalantly the press, political figures, most pundits, etc. are treating this.

Same here. Transgender Americans have been completely abandoned by the mainstream media and are going to be genocided without a peep, except possibly the New York Times congratulations to the Trump regime for a job well done genociding us all.

I predict most people won't even notice when we're all gone.

Yes, so they won't be able to use their skills as military contractors or civilian experts assisting US forces. They're also going to begin banning Trans Americans from all federal employment soon. Stay tuned. It's going to happen in days.

As you clearly related, the costs to the country and military will be great in terms of the 18 billion as well as a decrease in military readiness. A much greater percentage of us serve than the general population and the military is having great difficulty in recruiting with so many, especially men, unqualified. It is amazing that more than 30 countries allow trans people to serve, including UK, Canada, Germany, France, Israel Argentina, etc. and this President gives BS reasons which in reality is just hate and bias. Of course the loss of an estimated 14K doesn't include those with transgender dependents who are stripped of gender affirming care and who will also give Trump the middle finger and leave. Trump's reasons are little different than those used to segregate the military, keep women down and of course to do the same to gay members and are an unmitigated obscenity coming from our draft dodging, dishonorable, "bone spur" President. (Retired military 20+ yrs)

Yes.

We Trans people have always served 200-300% more than the general population, because giving one's military service to one's country has ALWAYS been a respected method of demonstrating the "content of one's character", from the Jim Crow era and military desegregation to the fight for women to serve wherever they can meet the MOS qualifications.

That's EXACTLY WHY Trans Americans are being banned now.

The GOP wants to drive home that we are unworthy to live, unworthy to exist, therefore unworthy to serve.

This is literally what genocide looks like in mid process.

January is Holocaust Awareness Month.

All this has happened before.

All this will happen again.

So true. The parallels with 1930s Germany and what they did to the Jewish citizens are numerous along with the mis-information/dis-information. It is too much of a coincidence that along with his reading of Mein Kampf that he and Proj. 2025 are using that as a playbook for what they are doing to us and our democracy. Like the German people, the silence of so many despite what they know, makes them complicit.

Well, I'm all for crippling "military readiness" if the point of it is to invade Greenland. Fuck this country and fuck all who voted for Trump, which includes most military enlisted. I do not thank them one bit for their ersatz "service", they are traitors who should be hung, drawn, and quartered.

"(her) requirement that others honor this falsehood, is not consistent with the humility and selflessness required of a service member." So much of this is expected and yet still jarring. But saying trans women don't have humility? To throw off the privilege incorrectly given at birth and to live as the woman you are cannot be done without humility.

Project 2025, page 75 discusses changing the civil service appeals process to make disciplining a case of “transgender ideology” easy, with no course of appeal. Page 584 directs the EEOC to use the narrowest interpretation of Bostock possible, allowing claims only on “transgender status” (words from the Bostock decision) as violation, with a very narrow interpretation of that.
