https://thistleandmoss.com/p/the-daily-exhale-homan-cucks-epa-burns-and-they-try-to-steal-our-flags#they-cant-take-our-flag-bitches

On February 9, under cover of "government-wide guidance," federal agents quietly removed the rainbow Pride flag from the Stonewall National Monument in New York City β€” the literal birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.

The National Park Service cited a January 21st memo restricting flagpoles to the U.S. and Interior Department flag. What it actually means: the shit-gargling fuck-sticks in this administration looked at the holiest ground in queer American history and chose to strip it bare.

WTF did the idiots at the AMA think that this administration was going to do with their broad meaningless statement?

It was enough to cover their own asses and they knew it would be weaponized against the trans community. The pathetic cowardice in this county is as horrifying as the hate coming from the fascists in the administration.

Donald Trump’s latest legal assault on four federally qualified LGBTQ+ health centers is not about policy β€” it is about cruelty, control, and the deliberate targeting of vulnerable communities for political gain.

This is yet another racist, bigoted attempt to weaponize government power against people simply because of who they are.

Federally qualified health centers exist to serve communities that are too often marginalized, underinsured, and ignored. LGBTQ+ health centers save lives.

They provide mental health care, gender-affirming care, primary care, and culturally competent services that many patients cannot safely access elsewhere.

To attempt to strip these centers of their ability to serve patients is an attack on public health itself.

Let’s be clear: this is part of a broader pattern. From attacks on transgender youth, to efforts to roll back civil rights protections, to inflammatory rhetoric that fuels hostility and violence β€” this is a coordinated strategy to erase LGBTQ+ people from public life.

These health centers must not stand alone.

They must band together. They must challenge these actions in court. They must demand protection under federal civil rights law.

They must call on governors, state attorneys general, members of Congress, and the medical community to intervene.

Silence will only embolden further abuse of power.

Healthcare is not a culture war weapon. It is a human right.

We call on:

State leaders to provide immediate legal and financial support to these centers.

Civil rights organizations to mobilize.

Medical associations to publicly defend evidence-based care.

Every citizen who believes in equality to speak out.

History shows that progress is defended not by retreat, but by resistance.

These centers must stand firm, defend their patients, and fight this unjust, discriminatory overreach in every lawful venue available.

Bigotry cannot be allowed to dictate healthcare in the United States.

Enough is enough.

And far too many fold pre-emptively.

Thank you for your reporting.

"The @ASPS_News and AMA have made strong statements on this critical issue."

They made baseless atmospheric statements without changing any actual guidelines as to what is good practice.

"The latest referrals also appear to violate, at least in spirit, the agreement in Oregon v. Kennedy, where 22 states filed a lawsuit challenging the Kennedy Declaration as violating the Administrative Procedure Act."

This administration acting like it's desires are the law is sadly typical -- and how many of it's actions are criminal, meriting prosecution under 42 U.S.C. Β§ 1983, 18 U.S.C. Β§ 241, & 18 U.S.C. Β§ 242.

β€œBreast reduction β€œ surgery is also known for as gynecomastic surgery. It includes removal of breasts developing on males due to pubertal problems, removal of breast from intersex boys due to pubertal problems, breast removal from trans boys/men and lastly the reduction of breast size from females whose breasts are so large it threatens mobility and health. Keep this in mind as the anti-trans hysterics try to interfere with patients health choices.

Talia Perkins's avatar

It not only includes that, it is the overwhelming majority of gender affirming surgeries done for youth.

I consider the term β€œgender affirming” to be intolerably disrespectful to trans people. I think it’s a mistake to use it. Why would anyone feel a need to β€œaffirm” their sex or gender to anyone else by allowing themselves to be conformed to some authority figures idea about what they β€œshould” be, should be like, should look like or have the body parts of! No. When and if a person wants to access medical treatment or modification they should be allowed to avail themselves of it without justifying it to anyone else, with an important caviat! They must be provided with complete and truthful information and give their fully informed consent. While denying this to those who want it the β€œsystem” in the USA forces mutilating, medically unnecessary genital surgeries on intersex infants and toddlers while rushing terrorized parents into submitting their child to it. The same hospitals denying trans gender puberty delay hormones to transgender pubescents are leaving in place permissions to harm intersex babies! Pediatric β€œmedicine” in the USA was turned into a for profit industry in the 1990’s. Buyer beware!! Many sex, sexual and racial minorities are considered β€œless than human” and infinitely exploitable. The history of it has been written and is available to the public. We need only look.

Talia Perkins's avatar

""I consider the term β€œgender affirming” to be intolerably disrespectful to trans people." <- And you go on to demonstrate how about that matter you are drastically ignorant.

"I think it’s a mistake to use it." <-- Do go on, dig your hole deeper.

"Why would anyone feel a need to β€œaffirm” their sex or gender to anyone else by allowing themselves to be conformed to some authority figures idea about what they β€œshould” be, should be like, should look like or have the body parts of!" <-- Moron, "authority figures" have nothing to do with it. Gender -- gender identity -- is why a boy wants generally to be thought of by others, to be seen to be, and to see in a mirror what they see to be a boy. A girl wants generally to be thought of by others, to be seen to be, and to see in a mirror what they see to be a girl. You statement is identical to your having claimed that a boy should be perfectly happy to have breasts and a period, and a girl should be perfectly happy to have a beard and a deep voice. It is quite possible you yourself formed no strong sense of your gender while in utero and that's why you can't understand surgery of some sort is something many transgender people want, this is not the case for most people.

"They must be provided with complete and truthful information and give their fully informed consent." <-- Already the usual case, and you have no excuse to pretend otherwise.

"While denying this to those who want it the β€œsystem” in the USA forces mutilating, medically unnecessary genital surgeries on intersex infants and toddlers while rushing terrorized parents into submitting their child to it. " <-- Which both should not be done to infants and has only this to do with it -- a visibly intersex child able to void normally should be let to grow and when and if they say they perceive their gender to be one way or the other, listen to them and believe them if they have a firm desire to have surgery one way or the other, or not at all

. . .

Which is the same circumstance which should apply to transgender youth.

You certainly have no grounds you have mentioned, to decry it as you have.

" Pediatric β€œmedicine” in the USA was turned into a for profit industry in the 1990’s." <-- It is no more about money now than any medical care has ever been, "the 1990's" have nothing to do with it.

"Many sex, sexual and racial minorities are considered β€œless than human” and infinitely exploitable." <-- And?

"The history of it has been written and is available to the public. We need only look." <-- And yet nothing there supports your claim the term gender affirming is in any way disrespectful to transgender people.

Are you in fact an AI bot?

"Gender-affirming" only means that the care providers accept (affirm) the person's sense of gender at face value, rather than trying to "fix" it and make it conform to a cis-normative construct.

Jennica French's avatar

I agree there’s nothing β€˜gender affirming’ about mutilating a young trans person who’s been beaten into the closet.

β€œWelcome to the Institute for Sexual Science.

The ashes of our library still lie on the Opernplatz β€” the very place where the Deutsche Studentenschaft and the Sturmabteilung paraded their smug barbarism. They didn’t just throw our books into the fire; they placed the bronze bust of our founder, Magnus Hirschfeld, stolen from the institute, on top of the pyre like a grotesque trophy of their fanaticism.

Estimates speak of 12,000 to 20,000 destroyed books and journals, along with countless images and materials on sexual science β€” a deliberate assault on knowledge, diversity, and human dignity. Other accounts put the number closer to 25,000 volumes. What burned here was not merely paper, but a conscious attempt to extinguish enlightenment itself.”

I'm sorry, but NOTHING this administration and its lackies do surprises me anymore. Mind you, I'm still incensed and disgusted, but just as the Jews were by 1942, I'm no longer surprised. I will say it again. The second amendment to the constitution was penned not for duck hunting, but for the citizenry to have recourse in dealing with a despotic government (foreign OR domestic). All of these exclusionary steps are merely the natural step-by-step progression toward the christian nationalists' goal of elimination. We are being warned. Woe to us if we fail to heed the warnings.

Talia Perkins's avatar

Ah, we are nowhere near as bad off as the targets of the Holocaust in 1942 . . . more like circa 1935.

[time for the not great, not terrible meme?]

Our networks are too stretched thin and those with resources are just going about business as usual.

We need all hands on deck from the Democratic party to stop these attacks.

We need outright boycotts of companies working with the Trump admin.

We need coordinated efforts from those on the ground that know how to launch political counter-attacks.

What weaknesses does this open the admin to? What resources are not being utilized elsewhere? We need thinkers and leaders to step up.

For all those who are part of the LGBQ community and thought that the republicans were just after those of us who are trans, tag you’re it.

We always knew they wouldn’t stop with us

Goddamnit. Tonight at midnight (probably eastern) is the last chance to comment on the two HHS rules, to slow them down and give basis for legal challenge on grounds they didn’t consider the comment concerns. There’s info on how to comment here- they have a portal they feel is safe. I didn’t feel safe using it, and used a vpn to make anonymous comments to the federal register directly. I’m so angry- we need to slow these &$&@$& down. https://outaccountabilityproject.org/cmstoolkit/

I have connections to both Whitman Walker (where I currently receive my care) and the LA LGBT center (from when I lived in California a year. I literally drove an hour and a half to meet other queer people there. Them and planned parenthood were the only places I could find for care when living in the high desert. I drove an hour and a half to planned parenthood to get trans healthcare.) They're going after already spread too thin resources
