I knew who I was when I was three years old, in 1958. When I was twelve, I told myself it must not be true, that I was not a girl, but I knew I wasn’t a boy. Denial took over for decades. Youth now don’t have the lifesaving luxury - hollow as it is- of that denial. Even so, suicidal ideation was my constant companion. If I was a child or youth now, and HRT was withheld? I would never survive.

Absolutely My story is pretty much the same.

I fear they are coming for our care too

Oh, they def are. But if there’s demand, there will be supply. Stock up now to tide yourself over while those supply chains establish themselves.

Yes, similar story and the same feeling, what these people are doing to trans youth is unforgivably cruel.

Seriously. Nobody wants to "make children trans". We want to make sure that children who ARE trans become ADULTS.

So - what this means is that the entire anti-queer, anti-trans, Christofascist and just plain bigoted crowd are actually, truly criminals. I'm not surprised, but I'm saddened - and enraged.

Yes. This is why I say whether they are intelligent and informed enough to know it -- and many are, they just don't care -- all gender critical/Social Conservative people are child abusers.

Monstrous child abusers. They are the evil they claim they fight.

And for those who have no excuse not to know that, it is why it must become a Dem Party platform plank, that there will be investigations and prosecution under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, 18 U.S.C. § 241, & 18 U.S.C. § 242 for those engineering, funding, and carrying out the propaganda campaign and enacting the laws and policies against transgender people.

Every, and I mean EVERY, conservative accusation is actually an admission - either of what they (by which I mean those driving the party) already have done and do do, or what they WANT to do. Every. Single. Fucking. Time.

This article hit home as a reminder of the issues my transgender granddaughter is facing now and will face in the future.

What worries me most at this time is access to care, something this administration has made more and more difficult for transgender individuals and their families.

She is still young and thankfully has not yet experienced bullying or harassment, but I worry every day about what she may face as she grows older.

I know she is not alone, and many families are dealing with the same fears, but it is still painful knowing that the road ahead for her may not be an easy one.

At the same time, I know she is strong, resilient, and surrounded by people who love and support her. I believe she will face life with courage and strength, and I hope one day she can live in a society that treats her with the dignity and respect every person deserves.

I hope that these religious zealots, bigots, and this administration and others that are trying to remake everyone into what they believe a person to be, and would take the time to really learn what life is really like for those in the LGBTQ+ communities.

Maybe then just then they would shut the f---K up

Great job, Erin. This is very readable and easy to understand. This will be helpful as we fight two anti-trans initiatives in Washington State. One bans trans athletes and the other forces outing of kids who talk to school counselors ,school social workers, school nurses and teachers. This is great data to have right now. And it breaks my heart!!!

I hate this fucking timeline. No child should have to grow up in the heartless, greed-fueled, blood-drenched world Republicans are determined to leave them.

They are consider that a fucking feature, not a bug. Motherfuckers.
