This year, it has felt like anti-trans legislation has moved unimpeded. In Wyoming though, activists successfully pushed back and became the first red state to defeat a trans healthcare ban.
This is incredible! Who knew that the republicans would be willing to open up and learn. VERY interesting that Blue Cross Blue Shield showed up. That’s a huge aspect of this I think. They have big money and when they speak politicians listen.
Thank goodness some people are looking at these bills critically. Otoh the fact that the bill’s sponsors doesn’t care about mental health care for us speaks vOLuMes
My mind is always blown by the arrogance and ignorance of bullies. At least these ones are out in the open where we can see them and possibly do something about them if we can't change their minds...like sue them, oppose their legislation, vote them out. Love you!
First, thank you for sharing this. It's so important to highlight the victories as well. I went to the full video and I was going to skip around in it, but ended up watching then entire thing. And... I think I heard republicans speak common sense. I think I'm thankful for a few of them. I'm not sure what to do with this new feeling lol I hope it catches on though and more republicans start thinking this through. (i'm not holding my breathe, but maybe?) But also.. that Buchard person and the people that testified with him? Some of those were just chilling and disgusting. "We're doing this for the kids!" "...but are you aware this is going to hurt and jeopardize children" "Yes! But that's okay because we're doing this for the kids!"
The public testimony was very powerful, and brought me to tears. Such an unexpected win. Thanks for sharing.
Fly them everywhere!

Most of the time I think that's the whole point.
Agreed. It just blows my mind that they feel emboldened to say it out loud.

Agreed!
I'm glad they actually analyzed the bill vs. just blindly following through fear, ignorance and doubt. Maybe there's hope.
