Thanks for the continuing updates! It is amazing to me how much cruelty our federal government expresses in its policies. The people creating them are sad examples of humanity in their intolerance and hatred for anyone not exactly like them. Unfortunately they have the power, for now, to do tons of damage. Good to hear folks at local levels are seeing the intolerance for what it is and kicking those folks out!
I'm disappointed, but not surprised that the sort of abuse that happened to me as a young queer person in Catholic all-boys school in the '80s, is still going on today at schools like Ursuline.
I'm kind of fumbling for words here because the "alleged events" track SO close:
The sports team involvement, the coaches, the teacher indifference if not outright participation and endorsement, all of it.
It's gonna take an extended workout at the gym today to get a hold of the triggers here, but this is needed coverage.
"Catholic schools have long had tensions with LGBTQ+ students, but a new report at them details a situation so severe it has now prompted a federal lawsuit."
But...they assure us they are only filled with love, kindness and compassion.
I was born and raised Catholic. I went to Catholic schools my entire childhood. I endured a good 5 years of bullying until I took matters into my own hands. The Catholic church hierarchy is just as hypocritical as Trump himself. They talk a big game but it's the actions that count.
"Many Moms for Liberty–style candidates were swept out in 2025 and replaced by Democrats riding a growing backlash to the anti-transgender panic that has overtaken school boards in recent years."
This is a glaring indicator that the country as a whole was too complacent and not prepared for the fighter jets full of shit Trump dumped on all of us. As the football analogy goes, It takes twice as much energy to play defense than offense. We must make sure that we never get caught off guard again!
Something I have seen almost no coverage of. Not sure what to make of that.
200+ lawmakers demand Speaker Mike Johnson end anti-trans rhetoric in Congress

Not clear what specifically prompted it at that moment, or what the reaction has been.
No coverage whatsoever.
This is the first l’ve seen of this too. Thanks for posting it.

Because 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 shithole country has 𝘴𝘰 much standing to challenge others on human rights, at this point...

Thank you, Erin.

Ursaline is just down the road from me. Good to see legal action against yet more church-sponsored bullying!
