I agree with everything except it’s not clear how much of the legal cost is incurred by the states and how much absorbed by groups like ADF that push states to try such litigation

Wow, Chase Strangio is impressive (I wish I was as articulate). Sadly, I don't believe Republicans are interested in the facts. They're fully aware of the legal overreach -- I don't think any of the points he so articulately conveyed are new to them. It's political expediency at its worst with little care or concern for the real people who suffer as a result.

This is great testimony. Thank you for sharing. Really respect what Strangio is doing on in the courts and how he is able to really break it down for the reps.

Wyoming S111 just advanced through committee and does the same thing: defines gender-affirming care as felony child abuse.

It's ironic because growing up in Texas, I'd always hear my conservative family say that Texas (and other red states) is broke and the fed never sends Texas (and other red states) enough money. I don't think they realize not every state spends a ridiculous amount on useless, wasteful, and usually hateful causes.
