It’s like playing Whack-a-Mole with these people. They keep popping up and creating new sources of disinformation.

I hope everyone realizes that conservative bigots no longer require facts of any kind. They will make up anything they feel will push their agenda forward. I hope enough people see the BS and vote Blue 🔵 against fascism.

Of course Clark and Jussim have both written for Quilette. The venn diagram of these orgs, outlets, and journals is a circle.

https://www.transgendermap.com/politics/psychology/j-michael-bailey/ Is this the same Michael Bailey who wrote "The Man Who Would Be Queen" and who was allegedly trying to pick up crossdressers at bars for sex as part of his "research"?

I could really just call this organization "fake news" and feel intellectually superior, but that'd be missing the point - it's feeding misinformation to people who are afraid of societal progress. They're afraid of their own offspring being trans, afraid of having to evolve. They don't know how to be objective, but they are parents, and some of their kids are going to be trans. This is precisely why the public schools are so vital, in offering a safe place to explore gender identity - and why the anti-trans movement is so preoccupied with controlling that. It's so convenient to say that a person should be an adult, or well into adulthood, even, before transitioning, when it doesn't as effectively treat the development into one's identified gender. Simply put, trans kids do know who they are, and they will have plenty of counseling along the way, to be sure their care is right for them. The phobes just don't have the facts, so they make them up.

"Again, the conflicts of interest are staggering. Could this journal’s entire purpose be a self-publication racket that is also being used to launder anti-trans organization talking points?" Yes it could. I encourage folks to check out the deep dive article in the New Yorker on the ADF (Alliance Defending Freedom) it's a painful read AND I'm glad there is this deep dive into their history, funding and goals. I'd love to hear Erin's summary and take on the article. Sorry I don't have a free link to share.

You are putting in sterling work trawling through these grifters’ mutual applause associations.

I'm so tired of this ROGD crap. I'm a parent. I read Littman's paper back in 2018 that started all this, and I just finished reading this one.

Many of these parental observations applied to my kid too. But the authors of these "studies" come up with the most anti-trans "hypotheses" possible, and present them as the only (or most likely) explanation. Could it be that your kid sought out trans forums on social media because they already suspected they might be trans? "No, my kid never told me until later, so obviously the internet tricked them!" 🙄

And then other "researchers" and anti-trans groups all cite each other in an unending spiral of bad research supporting bad policy.

To reinforce what I commented in a previous post, this is an incredibly ominous sign of how far the Republicans are willing to go to eliminate our very existence. Here is a quote from LGBTQNation.

"A series of early 2000s editorials written by the newly elected and virulently anti-LGBTQ+ Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) reveal his long history of targeting the LGBTQ+ community, as well as his beliefs that the mere existence of homosexuality should be criminalized."

So the answer is: LETS START OUR OWN JOURNAL!!! obviously it’s too easy to just make up a field, invent a journal, and have an editor share articles so that they can get a stamp as “peer reviewed” before we publish.

Let these idiots get a taste of their own medicine.

The main reason why I transitioned was to avoid the unbearable sex drive that I possessed, causes by excessive testosterone. I spent years in therapy, including in patient hospitalization and lots of different psychiatric medications to try to allow me to regulate my sexuality.

Spiro eliminated my problematic sex drive immediately. I feel like I have a normal life now. I feel like I finally have a normal, albeit minimal, sex drive now.

I have felt many other benefits, especially neurological. No more restless legs, no more sensory sensitivity, better coordination, better balance, and better muscle control. A lot less tension and a lot more emotional intelligence, especially processing mixed feelings.

Gender dysphoria was secondary to me, and just a side effect of my bodies medical issue. Excessive testosterone, that most of my receptors could not process.

I cannot imagine the form of self deceived monomania that would drive this.

People are so shameless nowadays. Why? I guess that you are in a cluster of people with similar delusions...but this paper wasn't even remotely scientific or in compliance with research standards or anything.

Now the noodlebrains make up their own journals about everything from vaccines to greenhouse gases. Hooray for capitalism. Destroy science.

They have to know better though. Don't they? Or some of them? You know when you make something up for a scientific paper. I think? YGIAGAM
