"You're Welcome" is the reply we offer in Canada. Thank you, Erin, for Everything you and your team do. I enjoy reading all the highlights of our own version of an "endgame." Please stay well Everyone. Love from London, Ontario, Canada.

That's what they're saying now but there ultimate endgame is the genocidal elimination of us.

It’s beginning to feel like 1924 all over again -_-

They are literally taking all of this out of the nazi playbook.

It's the Project 25 playbook now.

Nothing new under the sun I’m afraid. But this time we’re much more paranoid and the knowledge is much more decentralized.

That's the truth.

It's almost like this is exactly what trans people have been warning about since the 1st proposals of the sports bans to cis allies and "neutrals" only to fall on incredulous ears and met with sentiments of optimistic gaslighting 🙄

I’ve become the biggest harpy and meanest person over that. Every time I see an ally start with “I support them, *but* trans women in sport” I end up unloading, they’re so mindlessly infuriating.

Expand full comment

I've heard the same (including from queer people) about supposedly supporting trans people, but saying that maybe "teenagers are too young to transition". Makes me so mad.

Expand full comment
founding

Oh god, those idiots. Yeah….. the absolute worst are the transmedicalists gatekeeping transitioning until later in life, more out of a sense of superiority through suffering than any actual medical reason. Nevertheless, no fun all around.

Expand full comment

That excuse is one of the most infuriating takes because it implicates choice as the basis of our identity as trans people and erases the fact that every trans adult was a trans kid growing up through the lens of a trans experience whether they had realized it at that stage of their life or not. It's an erasive perception of trans people and it's distressingly disappointing how prevalent it is.

Was at a restaurant the other day, and because I'm friendly, this guy got into a conversation with me about politics going on today. Definitely a Rump-supporter who was spewing crap about transwomen. Had I not been in that environment, I would've gone off on dude. I finally just stopped talking and he (and his g/f) went away. Thank God! These fools have 0 idea they're talking with a transman. Had I not been alone in that particular spot, I would've punched him in the nose. Imagine his surprise when I tell him I'm trans.

I'm not a libertarian, obviously, but I do not understand how the F***: "allowing 'adults to do what they want' with respect to gender-affirming care was no longer congruent with 'the libertarian position.'" Isn't "letting adults do what they want" as long as it does not cause physical or property damage to others pretty much EXACTLY the libertarian position?

Expand full comment

Unfortunately, most of these politicians are just trolling for votes and will say whatever they believe potential voters want to hear no matter how disturbing or toxic. Politicians actually wanting to do good for their constituents is very rare these days.

Expand full comment

I guarantee there are plenty of Libertarians who would hear that and say wtf is he talking about? The squeaky wheel gets the grease, the loudmouth idiots get the airtime.

Sapir's argument will surely assert that trans women in women's spaces supplants the liberty and freedom of women and girls --since he doesn't believe trans women are women.

He doesn't believe trans people are people, probably.

I'll have to go look up that word. Thought I knew what it meant, but I don't think I do. Is it kin to being Liberal? If so, how on Earth are any of those people liberal?

It feels so, so frustrating to have this thing that saved my life, that truly made me a real human being in ways I was not before, that brings me joy, contentment, the ability to work on my mental health, the ability to be a member of society, and have it be torn down again and again. How is it mutilation if it helped me? How can something so good for me be some horrible thing? Do they truly believe it's their god that told them to do this? Why? There's nothing in the Bible about us at all! Why do these political detransitioners not understand that their experience perhaps isn't the same as everyone else's?

It's just so disheartening, because no amount of showing how happy we are will help change their minds. No studies, no stories, nothing. They won't stop until we're eliminated. The only threat we ever posed? Being different.

Expand full comment

Absolutely love how they cherry-pick science that suits their agenda (prefrontal cortex not developing till 24) and completely ignore or even outright deny that which goes against it (gender affirming care saves lives). They've been doing that with climate change, now they're doing it to target trans people.

Expand full comment

What gets me is the complete lack of critical thinking and contextualization. The most obvious follow-on point to the idea that brains aren't developed until 25 is, "well, what else do we allow people to do before 25, and how do these risks compare to HRT?"

Among the things you can do before age 25 include signing contracts, drinking alcohol, joining the military, getting married, getting a divorce, having kids, or signing up for ruinous amounts of student loan debt. Joining the military has obvious risks of lifelong irreversible damage. Having a kid is a huge responsibility. And getting married or signing up for student loans has similar long-term consequences.

It's the naked hypocrisy that really gets me. If 25 really is the threshold for adulthood, then that should be the minimum recruitment age for the military. 25 should be the minimum age for marriage. Hell, it should be standard practice to put everyone on birth control until they're 25, only not used if there is a medical need. After all, parents need to may need to make life-altering medical decisions for their young children, potentially ones too young to provide any input. If you're not mature enough to make decisions about your own body, how in the hell can you make them for someone else?

But of course, that wouldn't fly to these politicians, who most likely believe the ideal age of marriage for a girl is 14.

They're playing with fire, here, yeah. Their pipe dream of an authoritarian USA will not prevail, and they really ought to see that themselves.

Re: your last sentence, it did stand out to me that there was something conspicuously missing from their list of things minors can't consent to:

> I think that what we can say is that for minors, they are not capable of giving informed consent... We already regulate what minors can do. They cannot sign contracts, buy cigarettes, consume alcohol, they can’t get a tattoo without their parents. We already have rules concerning that.

I suspect this is not a coincidence. Too many child abusers among the transphobes' ranks that they don't want to alienate.

Our big problem is the total lack of interest or pushback from Liberal and Democrat lawmakers. We keep on throwing doctors and scientists at them to testify for us. Why is there nothing coming or any planning with legislators against them?

Is this what Biden said with his remark about “having our back”? The literal truth is that I feel that no one has our back and that I’m on my own.

Expand full comment

We're all feeling that. Hell, I felt that way about being Black. Now I can lump this on top, which threatens my very existence. God help us! I'm tired of this.

I already knew what their endgame was, but hearing it makes me physically ill.

No matter how "blue" we think our state is, trans people are under attack everywhere, and our ability to live our lives is in jeopardy in this country.

The christofascist, quiverfull, religious extremist army is coming for all of us, and in my case the "they" includes some of my immediate blood relatives and "us" means anyone that isn't a cis, white, straight, christian man or his obedient wife and children. The trans of "us" are just the main target now.

Expand full comment

So true. Every state passing anti-trans laws is a state we can no longer live freely in. As of now, they are already limiting our mobility, employment opportunities, and healthcare. Before long it may be unpractical to travel through as many as 20 states without fear of arrest for using the right bathroom or finding yourself in need of medical care.

This reminds me of the 1942 Wannsee Conference (watch 2001’s “Conspiracy”)

Literal nazi vibes in that meeting

I have no words to describe the feelings of rage and injustice I feel after reading about this even though we all knew it was their plan

I wonder how far they’ll go - after banning gender-affirming care, perhaps they’ll criminalize existing while trans? I mean they already do when it comes to bathrooms

Human rights is the thing that led us to civil war the first time and while I certainly don’t want it to happen again, I can’t imagine another 20 years of escalation especially as the pace has increased of late. I’m hoping their self-own on abortion rights is enough to summon the blue wave but anyone reading that transcript should be alarmed enough about what the future of this country may hold if we collectively stand by and watch this happen

Vote blue

We really need to refer to it as the WannaBe Conference.

F these people

Expand full comment

That is the real truth, here - they are pushing the atomic button of civil war. They are forcing us to say we've had it up to here. I'm sure they'd argue that they've had all these "liberal" ideas forced on them, and it's just coming back around, but that's dependent on a mindset of ignorance that they definitely possess. I *have* had it up to here, with wrong opinions being given equal or greater attention to correct opinions. I'm not a fascist for asking them to be tolerant of us, they are fascists for asking us to bow down as slaves to them. F them indeed.

I agree. I was reading some of their Project 2025 playbook, and it hit me-- they are not kidding; they have written plans on how they are going to take over the country, no matter how the election turns out. And, they are smug enough they put it out there for all to see. Even as an ally, I ALWAYS knew they wanted to erase trans and queer people. Personally, I don't want to live in a world without LGBTQ+. I will not stand for a world where arbitrary decisions are made as to who is human and who is not. God (however you conceive them to be, or not) loves everybody.

They already published the end game in Project 25. These people are the ones putting it into action. If there isn't any concerted effort to go head to head with Sapir and his anti-trans propaganda using SEGM and Genspect's expanding flood of anti-trans websites, they will continue pass whatever anti-trans legislation they want. They are proving that in Red states now. They don't even need to be right, they just need to be loud and sow doubt into the public sphere. Everytime there's a new legitimate trans study out Sapir and Co. write 10 negative articles about it as if SEGM is the actual authority on transgender issues.

These people believe they are doing God's work, trans people be dammed.

This isn’t surprising. Back in 2020 or so two of the mist vicious lobbyists in the country - Matthew Sharpe from ADF and Terry Schilling from APP - pretty much spelled it out in a NYT interview. They knew they could garner support if they framed it around minors. But that was never the goal. It is total eradication. And has been from the start.

This is fascism. And no quarter can be given. Medical institutions and professionals need to let it be known that they will not comply with any anti-trans legislation regarding gender-affirming care. Mayors, chiefs of police, etc., need to let it be known that such laws will not be enforced in their jurisdictions. NIH funded researchers need to let it be known that if their institution knuckles under they will take their labs and money elsewhere. Medical licensing boards need to let it be known that any attempt to pull the license of anyone for providing trans care will not be recognized. I let my boss know (at Pittsburgh Children's) two years ago (when Texas Children's knuckled under) that if anything like that ever happens here I am looking for another job immediatel. The needs of patients come first. People that refuse to react this way are worthless, spineless pieces of shit no matter how much they claim to be "allies".

They know what’s best for everyone, don’t they? I wonder if they will ban their cis wives from “mutilating” their bodies with boob jobs. Y’all religion is not benign. It’s all about control. F-ing enraging.
