Great news. Thanks yet again Erin. Your last paragraph eloquently states my thoughts as I read your article. Local school districts and boards are faced with the harm obeying these cruel policies will do to children and their families, many of whom they know personally. I laud their courage and human decency as they put lives ahead of money. Let them be an example for the others.

USC is an elite institution that has not capitulated. It shouldn't need to be singled out; they should all be standing up for what's right.

This is wonderful we need more and more schools standing up and being counted.

The more schools that stand together and refuse to bend the knee the better all our students will be. Our students need to learn that everyone should be free to express themselves without fear of reprisals. I’m ashamed of all the lawyers, organizations, universities, colleges, etc that have bent the knee to the trump the bully. It’s time we all stand up and take back our country from this tyrannical administration.

The best-funded for-profit educational and medical institutions, who are in the best position to resist the demands of a corrupt authoritarian regime thanks to their deep pockets, are largely (but thankfully not all) complying in advance to protect the bottom line... and the public schools, chronically underfunded, understaffed, and underappreciated, are the ones 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 the line.

All of this is really laying bare the true motivations of the people running our schools and other vital institutions, huh? It's getting pretty damn easy to tell who's in it for the money or power, and who's in it because they actually give a shit about those in their care.

School boards are showing the way and hopefully the larger institutions can learn to follow. It gets easier when there are others leading the way and one is not asked to stand alone. Kudos to the first school board to stand with their students, and show everyone else how it is done. You are the heroes we need, not kings.

Trump's policy on this is provoking me to overthrow him with force. We're not going to let Nazism rule America. Fuck Donald Trump.
