For the first time, a randomized controlled trial has been completed on gender affirming care and the results are stunning: 55% of those on care saw reduction of suicidality vs 5% of control.
I'm glad this happened, but I still wonder "how on earth can you fool the control group?"
I'm still shocked how much the hormones did for me. My whole life, I learned to dance with this ideation voice, to soothe it and suppress it, and keep it under control. A year in, it was just... gone. Not weaker, not suppressed. Just, there is nothing left to talk to and keep under control at all. I wish I had started in my teens.
The anti-trans crowd is not interested in evidence. Most reject the science outright and are likely to reject science altogether. It is the same with women’s reproductive rights. In the end, they consider these issues as abominations to God, who apparently gave explicit instructions in the Bible for transgender care.
Very glad to see this, I am truly hopeful that majority of the republicans out there are not blindly hateful but just misinformed. Misinformed people are much easier to subsequently inform than it is to challenge genuine hate. It is easy to get very pessimistic at times, but within my own, albeit short, life thus far I have seen views towards things like gay marriage quickly improve.
I’m very glad to see this study, which confirms what we have long believed. It’s yet more evidence that medical decisions and treatments should always rest with patients and their doctors, never with politicians.
Every medical study adds to the collective research and literature on transgender care, and, while there are those who are unpersuadable, I do think every addition from the global medical community (the authors of this study are in Australia) does great benefit to the transgender community.
Erin, I appreciate the work you do keeping your readers informed about Trans rights and what is happening in so many states to suppress their rights. I consider myself an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and want to be an informed ally. Thank you, Erin 💓
Honestly regarding increased SI for myself it’s the politicians and their followers, I see police and assume a lynching is coming and this is Denver. Fortunately Veterans Affairs has been able to help with my mental health but it’s still the politicians that scare me....Never trust a thief who steals more than they need, or those who are not willing to work for their earnings (yes politicians and the vast corruption in the judiciary branch as well)
Apologies to those who got this email with the wrong link to the study. Updated the link with the correct link here:

The Bible explicitly says that the value of the child in the womb is not equivalent to the value of a human life post-birth: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+21%3A22-25&version=NIV Of course, the anti-abortion brigade ignores their own holy book as they do science.
Same when it comes to Trans folks (at least for the Christian bible). I interpret this pro-Eunuch passage as Jesus being in favor of enby people. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2019%3A11%2D13&version=NIV
But like I said, their theological understanding is probably about as good as their scientific literacy.
