Let’s be absolutely clear: politicians have chosen to make transgender young people a political target, and they continue dragging these kids and their families into the political crossfire.
The fact that politicians continue trying to make transgender youth healthcare the center of our politics is something I have been criticizing for a long time. The public is far more complicated—and far less obsessed with this issue—than the politicians and activists pushing these attacks would have us believe.
What should matter is that transgender children and their families, working with qualified medical professionals, should be able to make deeply personal healthcare decisions without politicians inserting themselves into the examination room.
Yet some politicians continue to use transgender people as political targets, turning vulnerable young people into campaign talking points.
Enough is enough. Transgender people are members of our communities. They deserve dignity, privacy, healthcare, and the freedom to live their lives without politicians constantly telling them who they are allowed to be.
It is past time to stop using transgender people as political props and simply let this community live their lives.
And when we vote, we need to remember who stood up for these communities—and who chose to make them political targets. Show up. Vote. Make your voice heard.

Despite this poll, the attack ads against trans people will very likely continue. These right wingers have a visceral reaction to trans people that will overcome any logical thinking and prudent evidence. We have seen this constantly since this moral panic really got underway approximately in late 2022.

This poll question is poorly written, where "oppose" means politicians should stay out of gender affirming care, and "favor" means politicians should ban it. I'm guessing many respondents didn't think deeply enough and their gut answered as if they were "favoring" care or "opposing" care. I don't think the poll is trustworthy
