Oklahoma shocked medical providers and the transgender community by filing a bill to ban gender affirming care. This morning, we have learned two more states seek to do the same.
They are literally trying to kill us off because we challenge their perceptions of gender. But Even if by some bizarre means they were to succeed there would still be more of us born every single day to replace us. They tried to legislate the LGB community out of existence and it didnβt work. This wonβt either. They might temporarily win the battle, but we will win this war.
I agree Jessica. In the long view things should improve if history is any indication. For myself as a resident of Texas, and for many others in affected states, this is little comfort. As they temporarily win the battle; we are the casualties. My fear is real and tangible. As these laws go into affect, they will force us back to the hell of living in a gender we do not identify with. This will surely put us in great danger. An even greater danger is the transphobic message this sort of legislation advances. These laws and the publicity surrounding their passage will foment even greater hate towards us. But the greatest danger my fear and hopelessness brings is from my own hand. I feal finnancialy trapped in a hostile place. Losing my ability to blend in and losing the mental health benefits my hrt brings, the suicidal state I was in before transition is trying to make a come -back even now. How many casualties will there be! The pain is real and tangible.
Thanks for all that you are doing so we can both be aware of whatβs going on and prepare how to help those that are going to be affected greatly. It really is concerning how slow and steadily it is becoming the next major crime against humanity with persecution and possibly genocide against the LGBTQ in America.
Theyβre try to kill us off with βdeath by a thousand cuts.β The same creeping incrementalism theyβve used against reproductive rights.

This is terrible. I hate it so much!
I pledge to get behind the effort to vote no on transphobic legislation of any kind.
