Maryland's Senate Finance Committee met to hear SB119, a bill that would establish Maryland as a sanctuary state for transgender people fleeing other states.
This is almost anti-climactic. I hope it passes, but boy do I feel like my ass has been kicked. So sick & tired of being a target. I live in GA and they're still after us.
Good for Maryland. I hope it passes. I was aware of Gov. Wes Moore’s executive order last year, but I have always felt that it’s even better to codify these types of protections into state law. Unlike Maine - which I am still very disappointed with - it seems like Maryland likely has what it takes to join the ranks of the most protective states. I hope it does do that. I’ve lived and worked in Maryland in the past, and it’s a great state.
I'm actually in Maryland and I can say it has taken me in, the state has been lovely to live in as a trans person.
Yeah, it's good here. An oasis, really. I didn't comprehend the depth of mental darkness in the U.S., until the Trump era. Glad you visited.
I certainly hope this bill passes. Raising my eyebrows at the anti-vax quacks also showing themselves to be transphobes.

There are so many things in that film that you at first think are over the top and then then each time you rewatch it, it's "Oh."
(I sincerely hope this stops at some point. 😬)
Woo let's go Maryland!! 🦀

So proud of my State. Here’s to hoping it passes swiftly into law.

hoping this passes! anyone fleeing an anti-trans state is always welcome here in Maryland <3
Looks like I may be moving to Maryland in the near future and calling it home.
As Maryland's welcome signs now say: "Leave No One Behind"
You’ve given me a reason to move to the other side of the Potomac, Erin. Thank you and for all you do!
Been in Maryland for 40+ years. It’s still got a couple rough spots, but those are dwindling. Really need this to pass

I hope I'm not too late to this party for this comment, but I hope Erin doesn't mind if I share something I created here on Substack about all this.
