Good! We need the other remaining states (that haven't actively made themselves a humanitarian nightmare)to follow suit.

It’s really good to see a light blue state (on Erin’s map) take steps to strengthen its protections, especially after neighboring New Hampshire infamously and sadly went in the other direction. I’m curious, if this passes would it be enough to move Maine into the dark blue category of most protective states (along with CA, CO, MD, MA, DC, VT and so on)?

Ew I just made the mistake of looking at Riley Gaines’ Twitter. These people are disgusting. So glad I ditched that cess pool, makes it feel like the whole world is against us.

Hearing all the dire news about how all these different state legislatures want to kill us, it's a breath of fresh air that Maine wants to be a safe haven for 🏳️‍⚧️ people, especially in light of the fact that neighboring New Hampshire wants to abandon their "Live Free or Die" principles and execute tyranny for transgender people.

Heinous that this is necessary, but hooray for Maine!!

We all cheered too soon. Screw the democratically controlled committee who decided to abandon the trans community, including the bill's *original sponsor*, voting it down like it was a minor detail

Excellent! Let's hope more blue states follow suit. If there's any consolation, I suppose it's the nicest parts of the country which are trans-friendly (Mid-Atlantic New England, West Coast, most of the Great Lakes States) and the deep red states (Deep South, Midwest, etc.) where nobody would want to live anyway and are fast becoming economic, cultural, and health care deserts.
