Glad to hear from you S. Baum. Thank you for this.

The lust to hurt transgender youth is the greatest reason the people engineering, funding, and carrying out the propaganda campaign and enacting the laws and policies against transgender people must face 42 U.S.C. § 1983, 18 U.S.C. § 241, & 18 U.S.C. § 242 prosecution.

They must get an orange jumpsuit, and some should catch a needle.

All bc of rightwing demons politicizing a life and death issue to advance their unadvanced political views. Shameful and so sad!

"Rightwing demons" <-- They are literally child abusers. They are the monsters they claim they fight.

Every accusation is a confession.

Well, every hypocritical accusation is.

All the conservatives' accusations are hypocritical.

Why is the onus on convincing those who’ve already lost all hope to go on anyway, when these findings should be materializing murder and attempted murder charges on the people proposing, enforcing, and complying with these malicious policies? And what is this “MAY be causing” bs? Ask any trans person in the US how their health has been this year. The bigots in charge are institutionalizing murder.

The rising rates of suicide among transgender Americans are not an abstraction.

They are not statistics to be debated on cable news.

They are children, teenagers, parents, veterans, neighbors—human beings pushed to the brink by a relentless campaign of political scapegoating and institutional intimidation.

We are witnessing a coordinated assault on transgender healthcare, civil rights, and basic human dignity—driven by elements within the Trump administration and amplified by religious extremists who have chosen ideology over compassion.

This climate of hostility is not accidental. It is manufactured. And it has consequences.

When political leaders target transgender people as a threat, when they attempt to strip access to medically recognized care, when they pressure hospitals and clinics to abandon vulnerable patients, they create an environment of fear and despair.

Every public attack signals to transgender youth that their government views them as disposable. That message kills.

Major medical organizations—including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychological Association—have affirmed that gender-affirming care, when provided according to clinical guidelines, is evidence-based and often life-saving.

The data is clear: supportive environments and access to appropriate care significantly reduce depression, anxiety, and suicide risk among transgender people.

That is why NYU Langone Health is bending to political threats instead of standing firmly with its patients are so deeply troubling and causing untold problems for it's patients

Healthcare institutions are not political instruments.

They have an ethical duty to protect patient welfare, not capitulate to intimidation.

\When hospitals retreat under pressure, the message sent to vulnerable patients is devastating: you are on your own.

This is not just a policy dispute—it is a constitutional issue.

The Equal Protection Clause does not permit the government to single out one group for punishment.

The First Amendment does not allow the state to impose one sectarian religious doctrine on the entire population. And the Due Process Clause protects bodily autonomy and family decision-making from political intrusion.

If we are serious about reducing suicide, we must confront the root causes:

Political demonization

Legislative bans on medically recommended care

Harassment and surveillance policies

Institutional cowardice in the face of threats

History will judge institutions not by how well they complied with intimidation, but by how firmly they defended vulnerable people.

Transgender Americans deserve safety. They deserve healthcare.

They deserve equal protection under the law. And they deserve leaders—political, medical, and religious—who value their lives more than culture-war headlines.

Silence is complicity. Capitulation is abandonment. The time to stand unequivocally for life, dignity, and constitutional equality is now.

They want us dead.

In the view of the Heritage Foundation and their like, this finding is not an unfortunate, unforeseen consequence of their actions. It's something to be celebrated, or at least justified as a necessary cost. It's part of their plan.

They want to terrorize us back into the closet or, failing that, force us to the margins of society. And if some of us die in the process (from suicide, from violence, or from anything else), well then that's just so many fewer "problem" people.

Hey that's my alma mater! Good to see that they're providing this really important information that's cutting through the anti-trans propaganda. Fact is that gender-affirming care SAVES LIVES. And we all know this to be true.

Gee let me look surprised 😱

Does it also say how many lie about it

We are the chosen Prey of this Illegitimate Government and the Monsters who are trying their hardest to erase us from existence! Every last Anti-Transgender legislation and proposal of it is nothing more than a DANGEROUS SMOKESCREEN to hide their true intentions…they secretly Lust after Trans Women while they Jerk Off in their stagnant, putrid Closets that they have been in since they were born and they seethe with their own SELF-HATREDS! The sooner they get put in prison for their Traitorous crimes both here and abroad, the sooner we can start healing Our Nation! We need politicians who will not allow themselves to be Bought by the Corrupt Billionaire led Corporations! Pauperize Them! Make them sleep on the streets! And never forget this moment in time when we either get rid of them or we lose the country to FASCISM AND TYRANNY!! 👿👿🔥🔥

The fact that no one is being held accountable is heartbreaking. I will be mentioning "accountability for murder" when I write the legislators promoting/supporting anti-trans legislation. Letters to doctors and hospitals that cave in.

Tell us again, "moderates," how this isn't a fucking genocide. If you dare. Go on. Say it to our faces. See what happens.

I don't know what the most reliable polls say, but I'm pretty sure the general order of magnitude of that number is a) not confined to "youth," b) isn't recent, and c) is on the low side.

When "9% of psychiatrists, 6% of GPs, and 3% of surgeons would have approved gender-confirmation surgery," and we were considered “severely neurotic” by over 80% (86% of surgeons), is it so surprising that suicidal thoughts creep in? Those statistics came from an Amer. Med. Assoc. poll of members ca. 1966. And I know all too well what they do to a person.

Frankly, it's really not all that surprising when young people end their lives rather than accept having an identity forced on them that every psychic antibody they have rejects. What's more surprising is that some don't.

Let's make it our goal to move young people beyond that "internalized stigma" stage and develop real, unshakeable pride in every transgender person. We can't control the laws, but we can control our minds.

Cue the assholes crowing about how trans people need to be "cured" to "fix" our mental health, instead of just not being, well, assholes to trans people.
