Todd Rokita is a very vile person who should lose his attorney license. He is the guy who went after a Dr for performing an abortion for a 10 year rape victim of Ohio in Indianapolis. Please send him a lot of payback for everything he does.

I love it when they do this in the most idiotic possible way.

I mean that’s LITERALLY a Nazi maneuver

That was exactly my thought! Just instead of ratting out your friends and neighbors to the authoritarians, it's your school or teachers. I followed the links to the website and was appalled and amused at how hard some of the submissions worked to sniff out some sort of evil indoctrination or smutty, um, smut.

The desire of the politically “red” states to demean trans people is so foaming-at-the-mouth brazen that sometimes it results in initiatives that are nonsensical, hard to enforce, and/or have serious privacy concerns. Why is it always the red states that do this stuff? Disgraceful.

KingRayVet's avatar

Most of them are despicable human beings, that's why. Been messed up for centuries and now they're emulating the Nazi party. This is sick.

Oh, I’m in Indiana and missed news of this. I’ll have to pay the site a visit with some of my favorite memes. Rokita is a tool of epic proportions, a bigot and crap lawyer.

Erica_Rose's avatar

Absolutely one of the worst in Indiana and that is an accomplishment as we have a supermajority of bigots.

I had a coworker who thought she was funny by inviting me to see the eclipse in April in the Indianapolis area. I drove through there on road trips and it's scary what they had as political ads

Loads of fear tactics playing to people who don't care to learn about things. It's scary to think your rights are things that can be taken away so easily..... really scary.

KingRayVet's avatar

It's a very concerted effort to duplicate the Nazi party. They get together in DC, in private meetings, and decide these things. Then they go back to their respective States and implement. I'm beginning to think they won't get away with it this time. I don't know why I think that, and people are starting to push back. Protests and in writing.

If there was any hope of people standing up, for me it was when they went after a drag storyhour in NYC. People do stand up for us... and when they physically defended the people doing the story hour, I had hope more people would. We're not defenseless and they're not impenetrable.

We need to defend ourselves with more than just facts.... because they don't listen to facts. :(

KingRayVet's avatar

No, we're not defenseless, but in the minority. I'll defend myself with my life, but I know better than to go after those people as a sole man. What I do not see is a bunch of people getting together to fight back physically. I'm not in NYC, so those kinds of things aren't likely to happen where I am. I'm known to blast people verbally & in writing, facts be dammed. We're tired.

Something did happen where I live and when people showed up around congress to fight it, they weren't allowed to speak. This country is becoming fascist by the hour.

This line from Mike + The Mechanics' "Silent Running" from 1985 has proven prescient:

> Teach the children quietly

> For some day sons and daughters

> Will rise up and fight while we stood still

Our kids are fighting. Are we?

1. As PrincessFowl notes, this is literally Nazi stuff.

2. The folks flooding the site with memes are HEROES.

3. In wonder how long it will be before someone proposes a law to make posting a "fraudulent" item a crime. It wouldn't work because snitch lines by definition must be confidential, but no one is better than the righties at being petulant.

4. I lived in Carmel for a year, working at a nearby museum. Indiana was conservative then, but this seems much worse.

WillHotkiss's avatar

Hell yeah! Let’s blow this shit up! I submitted some Dr King quotes and rainbow equality memes!

Shayne's avatar

Will these people ever get a life? I doubt it.

KingRayVet's avatar

No, because it IS their life and livelihood. That's what we get for not paying attention to who we put into local political offices around the country. They slipped right past everybody and there isn't adequate background checks for worms like that.

They really never learn from their past mistakes, do they?

I think it would be helpful to do an international tracker of all the anti transgender laws in force and under consideration because it helps us to understand where the red states are getting their “ideas” and anticipate the best ways to push back.

I just uploaded a giph myself thanks for the tip! If you want to do it too I used the address for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce LOL.
