This right here is why it is SO important that everyone show up to these hearings.

So much can be done in those hearing rooms even if you know the way the bill will go.

Well, well, well, if it isn’t the consequences of their own actions.

Does anyone else wonder HOW we are here? Like... how is this even possible? Women are once again second class citizens, if that even. LGBTQ+ aren't even citizens. BIPOC - well, let's not go there! I mean - didn't "we" fight these battles? Like previous generations - went to battle - and won them! How are we here again? How are the previous principles not being upheld as a given?!

I don't like going backwards. I mean, maybe on a good rollercoaster... but otherwise, meh! I didn't choose to raise children in this climate (no pun intended!!). :(

What I want to know is - who funds all these lawsuits to defend the state's (states') poor behavior in passing these laws? That $$ could be better spent on oh so many things... um, like mental health! Especially here in MT! Can citizens sue the rogue legislations and governors who sign these bogus bills that (hopefully) get defeated in court? And many times, they pass the laws KNOWING that they will be struck down!! So gross.

On a more + note... my tween child is VERY excited that Rep Zooey Z. is speaking in Bozeman tonight and now we must go listen and meet her! ;)

I am hoping this is an answer to my oft repeated shout, "How can they get away with this?" Maybe, just maybe they can't.

Thanks for the update Erin, I wouldn't see this anywhere else.

As disheartening as many of the headlines are, it is nice to see beacons of light. Whether the news is good or bad Erin Reed has definitely done more than her homework and making sure that information is accurately written and presented. As a graduate of history I enjoy your elegant diction and your dedication to the certitude of truth. As a trans woman I thank you for your work from the bottom of my heart.

Impressed to know that there are still consequences for openly spewing hate. I mean, besides getting re-elected. Erin, thanks for covering Idaho. It can feel hopeless here.

Thanks, Erin. This is a hopeful update at a time that feels hopeless. I’m the parent of a trans kid in Ohio and have seen the same dynamic play out during committee hearing here.

Erin, I’m currently in Komal hospital recovery hotel I’m Bangkok. I’m here making friends with girls from all over the world getting our GRS. Universally they are absolutely terrified about what’s happening in the US. They got their rights when the US was a progressive country, now they speak of the possibility of being hunted done and imprisoned, or worse. I’m appalled that these beautiful girls know more about what’s happening than our community dose. A woman from Indonesia commented she remembers homosexuals being rounded up arrested and never heard from again. I cried listening to all the stories, ashamed of my nationality! Thank you for tirelessly doing all you do. I need to be in this fight! Kendra

I am dumbfounded. And yet, it makes perfect sense, in a weird way - if people are crazy and stupid enough to make this law, in the first place, they probably are also that way about what they say, in the process. C'est la vie, I guess.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries apparently uses Idaho potatoes for their fries. https://www.rd.com/article/five-guys-fries-ingredients/#:~:text=Five%20Guys%20reportedly%20sources%20its,business%20buys%20from%20Washington%20instead. I don't like the taste of Idaho potatoes or where they come from. Maybe Five Guys should use a different source of potatoes for their fries. In fact, maybe we should suggest that to Five Guys. And maybe we should suggest that our recommendation could be made in person to their staff unannounced.
