The fact that right-wing religious nutcases are dictating the Genocide of transgender people in the US, makes them very similar to the government of SA where Eden originated from.

It’s absolutely a travesty.

RIP Eden 🌹🌹🌹

Saddens my heart to no end. Thank you for telling her story.

I had to. She made a strong impact on her friends, and to stay quiet would not do her justice.

Thank you for this Erin. Making her story known is so very important.

This hurts my heart so much. I feel like our community is so small and that all of our hearts and Souls are connected. Let’s keep on fighting for her, and all of our fallen Siblings. This has to stop and WILL.

Erin, thank you for your detailed and thoughtful reporting on Eden. Why media hasn't ran hard with this is beyond sad but often telling on just how much we are marginalized. This needs far more expanded coverage.

This is gut wrenching to read. Eden, I'm so sorry this world failed you. I pray you are in a better, happier place where you can finally be yourself. ❤️😔

I am so fearful of this. My heart breaks for Eden and her friends. We have to somehow make this stop. Saying we are built in freedoms and not letting those in the US be free to express who they are is NOT freedom.

Rest Eden, your death can not be in vain.

I remember over a decade ago, maybe over 2 decades ago, reading about Saudi diplomats trafficking slaves in and out as domestic servants. Some of them would escape and find hospitals (untreated horrific injuries) and then the diplomats would claim diplomatic immunity. I just did a quick Google search and it looks as common as it was 2 decades ago. It smacks of American complicity, obviously. I wonder if, since it’s been going for so long, these people have gotten more brazen and sloppy, or maybe the opposite. This seem like a can of worms. I just upgraded to paid. Even though I can’t pay much, i hope you feel seen for doing such incredibly important, thankless and dangerous work.

Anyone know of a memorial fund or a place folks can donate to?

Great question, it would be amazing to support the work in honor of Eden.

It just breaks my heart to read about Eden. I have been unable to stop thinking about her and what she must have felt. Just horrible. I hope she’s in a better place.
