I do not understand why I do not yet see these facts shutting down the candidates and pundits claiming to Democrats they need to abandon us, de-emphasize us -- although I don't like some of the trend in polling you just mentioned. I do not understand why there is not yet any organized appearing pushback on the lies the gender critical tell.
Erin you have a loud clear voice on the topic, I don't understand why when a few percentage points matter and we are plausibly 4% at least of the current Dem base -- and we are quite rationally demotivated by a lack of support -- the DNC, et al, produce no apparent counter to the flood of Social Conservative propaganda?! I understand why they might think they get our votes, "for free". But the fact is they don't, and voting is a part of public life where we interact on the basis of legal identity, which life the SoCons want to extirpate us from.

I would assume because the weird people who are obsessed with us are well-financed, like Elon Musk and JK Rowling. The President also counts, seeing as he asked "Doordash Grandma" about trans athletes and she didn't give two shits and he said "I bet you have an opinion on them!" Like I said, the people who are obsessed with us and our genitals are people with lots of moolah.
Those numbers would be a lot more encouraging if they didn't represent a way-too-silent majority that doesn't vote the way they poll until people are already dying. Guess it's the same old story- the dangerous intersection doesn't get a traffic light until there's blood on the pavement, ATC overwork doesn't raise any red flags until planes start falling out of the sky, climate change doesn't matter until the waves are cresting over millionaires' vacation homes, and the US electorate doesn't give a flying sideways fuck about trans people until the genocide is already in progress. I find the trend downward from 22 to 13 in only three months to be concerning. Is the repetitive trans-bashing taking hold? Trump’s pattern is to stick with a lie and repeat it over and over until people start believing it.

This SLIGHTLY misses the point. The religious right (and in particular, the freakiest billionaire donor-class fringe of the movement) has made us a priority. It is said that many of the public statements trump's people make are for an audience of one - der gropenfuhrer himself. Likewise, I think the policy positions of the GOP are solely for their most make-or-break constituency - the religious right. They are the ones that dictate the platform and the messaging. They are the ones that fund much of the anti-trans political ad content. The religious right wingnuts are also among the most disciplined voters and do reliably show up at the primaries.
So, as much as I would like to breathe a sigh of relief that the clouds are starting to clear and the rain is starting to dry up, I don't think it's as simple as that. I think this is one of the hills that GOP (Genitally Obsessed Party) politicians feel they need to die on. And I think they will. The question is whether they will take us with them.
On a brighter note, I think poll results such as this may encourage that certain cowardly segment of the Democratic Party to cool it on the anti-trans apologist rhetoric, to generally shut up about the topic, and to quietly pass legislation to restore our rights.

At this point, it feels like they’re doubling down on a strategy that keeps costing them elections—and if they continue down this path, ( which I hope they do ) recent results suggest that they will continue to loose elections.

Not sure where the Trump job approval at 42% comes from and no source is cited. Sounds high. Even RCP's aggregator, which is usually high, has it at just 40% and Nate Silver at Silver Bulletin, usually also a lagging indicator, has him at just 38.9%

Ideally it shouldn't even matter who does the polling, as long as the sample size is sufficient, the subject pool is randomly selected, the groups and subgroups are of adequate size for valid statistical analysis, and the questions are posed in a disciplined and non-leading way. I'm no fan of Fox in general, but they seem to do decent-enough job of these things- enough so that they often piss off Dr. Jesus. It's a very strange and internally inconsistent network. The VAST majority of Americans give Trump poor ratings on his handling of all the major issues, and even MAGA voters are leaving the cult because they felt deceived on Trump's promise to not start new wars and to lower prices. Just today Trump lashed out at reporters asking him how long this Iran debacle would last, citing the Vietnam War and Iraq as two examples of wars that lasted for many years. As though THAT was going to absolve him for dragging this nation into an unwinnable and illegal war of choice based on nothing but lies.
Most Americans understand now that Trump and his MAGA cronies were simply using trans people as a distraction for their own failures and incompetence and the nation is measurably worse as a result.
Where did the preference for Democrats fall to reflect the overall point advantage of 22 in January to 15 in April? That’s a pretty significant decline and I kept expecting it to be explained it it wasn’t. Unless I missed it.
