I’m so happy this now exists. I love that their outright bigotry is documented in this ruling as well

Thanks Erin! For such a clear and concise explanation of this ruling. Finally BLOWBACK! I believe the truth will win in the end. Transgender rights are human rights.

Erin… thank you for sharing this really welcome news. Thank you also to you and Zooey for your tireless and fearless work in reporting on, exposing, and getting the bigotry of legislators on record … and showing the extraordinarily powerful impact of doing so.

The legal finding that Gender Identity is real (that the state’s only qualified medical expert admitted it) and that critics need to put up or shut up about it is also highly significant.

This ruling is a masterpiece. It is limited to the scope of the complainants who filed suit but it's effects in other suits could be far reaching because of its clarity and detail--especially as to the true intent of those who proposed it. It plainly calls out the deceit and trickery for what it is. It gives me hope.

Kudos to Judge Hinkle in upholding and affirming the US Constitution. Contrary to its governor’s position, Florida is still part of the United States and subject to federal law.

This is what democracy looks like. When a person, with the power of a judge, can view a law, that a majority imposes on a minority, as unconstitutional. Without that, you simply don't have a functional system. Mr. DeSantis would be able to just railroad through this garbage, unchallenged. But damn it, we aren't going to be silenced that easily. He better have a really unanticipated argument to make, if he wants to sell this trash "law" to the courts.

This is great, thanks for the commentary. I do wish the judge had noted there are other gender identities like agender, etc but I’ll take what I can get from the legal system

Incredible, a judge who is actually looking at the legitimate data and calling out republican far-right transphobic hypocrisy.

Compassionate sense will overcome in the end, I want to hope and manifest that notion.
