"Federal Judge Vacates Kennedy Declaration"

Thank you for your reporting Erin, I so very sincerely hope this does not go before SCOTUS on appeal . . .

It is a fine enough thing for the law to be so clearly on our side as in this, but eventually we need to win on the merits of our being as equally human as cisgender people are, and not in some way lesser or diseased versions of "actually" cisgender people. The central contention and actual avenue of attack against us by Social Conservatives, is that we are "really" cisgender people who are mentally ill, demonically possessed, or obsessed with a sexual fetish -- and those ideas are what we have to destroy in law and policy, and in the common public mind.

It'll be a great day when the Heritage Foundation runs out of people to hate and their staff have to go find real jobs.

The arc of history is long but it bends towards justice. ✊

They seriously argued that blocking his declaration would be taking away his free speech? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The "free speech" bit is the oldest conservative motte-and-bailey argument. When talking about it broadly, they'll talk about it as the right to speak verbally in one's own home. But when their speech is challenged, they use it to demand freedom from consequences or to demand enforcement of their will.

Well, that therapist in Colorado got purchase with that argument in the recent SCOTUS shadow docket ruling. Maybe this decision will help with that case as well as it works its way through.

Yeah taking away other people's rights are free speech, donchaknow.

Democracy is stronger than I feared. We're beginning to see common sense reemerge, from the madness of the Trump era.

We are now witnessing a SERIOUS backlash to Trump's tyranny.

The court’s permanent ruling is a powerful and necessary affirmation that healthcare decisions should be guided by medical expertise and patient needs—not political pressure.

By blocking efforts to strip funding from hospitals and clinics that provide transgender care, the judge upheld both the integrity of the healthcare system and the fundamental principle that vulnerable communities deserve access to evidence-based treatment.

This decision sends a clear message: policies that seek to undermine essential care, especially for marginalized groups, will not stand when measured against the law and basic standards of fairness.

Now lets see if these situations restart their transgender programs or find some other excuse

Great ruling against fed's attempted blackmail tactics. To bad those hospitals obeyed in advance! Remember!

Fight is not over. On heels of all good decisions is a bad decision allowing trans women be transferred to men’s prisons. Judge said it is not cruel and unusual punishment. This overturned previous judge’s decision.
