A Federal Judge in Georgia has blocked a gender affirming care ban from taking effect. In doing so, she also debunked several anti-trans talking points, including the idea of "low quality evidence."
This is very good news, and thank you Erin for such excellent reporting! Now if only a similar court block could occur for the recent legislative bans in North Carolina. Medical decisions should always rest with patients and doctors, not politicians
This should be applied to every state banning such care.
More good news in Kansas, the judge has allowed 5 trans people to intervene in the drivers license case between the AG and department of revenue. https://kansasreflector.com/2023/08/18/judge-allows-transgender-kansans-to-intervene-in-kobachs-drivers-license-lawsuit/
Also, Erin has a guest appearance on today’s episode on Jacobin Radio podcast.❤️
It's good to see us continuing to make some headway blocking these bans.
Not quite the anniversary yet Sherman’s spirit and his “march to the sea” spirit is finally winning in Georgia. The same confederate state which gave us such epic losses as MJT and Herschel Walker (comical to watch). The same stronghold of tyranny is now standing up for what is right, blocking this legislation and the indictments of the Trump 18. Georgia, never thought I’d see a confederate state doing something democratic, but hats off to you!
Just reading the ruling. The judge referenced the 303 Creative ruling to support a finding of imminent injury. That is a deliciously sick burn. I'm case anyone was looking for a dose of schadenfreude this morning.
I was so glad to wake up to this news today.
I'm hoping some of these NC laws get blocked as well.
Good new in GA! Thank you your reporting.
I fear the SCOTUS will reverse this, as they tend to send us to a lower layer of hell with almost every decision they make. 😢
It’s really getting time for the Trans Community to start to unite and demonstrate more, in order to be ready for these laws that reach the SCOTUS.qz
