I’m so fucking tired of Chloe. I overheard her at the medical board meeting saying she loved doing this... then went up to do her speech and cried. She is a sociopath.

I really would like to know why they would present it as a meaningful anecdote, obviously there are people who regret decisions they made, I could understand that dimension of it, but where is the impetus to control others? Why can't we just allow this debate to be about the merits of trans identity, something supported by evidence and experience? I'm fully confident in my pro-trans-rights position, I can absolutely back it up. I doubt they'll debate me, though, because they'll say I'm not giving their position due consideration, and they're right, I don't condone their anti-woke crap. I'm standing firm for what the evidence is. I'm willing to fight that fight.

It’s brutal out there huh. Dt’s can’t get enough of that billionaire anti trans money as apparently there’s plenty of it for them to survive on while throwing transgender and LGBTQIA fam under the bus.

Erin, this gets worse.

I have another piece to add to your article re: Exodus International and the Catholic church. While Exodus Int'l is defunct, unfortunately Desert Stream Ministries, a former ministry of Exodus, quietly moved from Protestantism to the Catholic church in 2005 via Andrew Comiskey. On his own bio at his website, he states that he moved from Southern CA to Kansas City, MO "to serve alongside Mike Bickle at IHOP." For those that do not know, IHOP (Int'l House of Prayer) is another anti-gay ministry that takes advantage of those with religious guilt. About 5 days ago, Mike Bickle was asked to step down amidst allegations of sexual abuse by former church leaders.

But wait-- there's more. While IHOP is evangelical, Andrew Comiskey converted to Catholicism in 2005, and from what I have been able to research so far, folded Desert Streams and also Living Streams ministries into the Catholic anti-gay organization known as Courage International, which promotes conversion therapy among other things. There are other details I won't go into here.

I want everyone to know that as a Catholic, there are actually many of us that absolutely DETEST these harmful, hateful, backward practices and don't believe this #$@! for a hot second. We know that trans and LGBTQ+ people are beautiful and perfect just the way you are. I'm also ashamed by that ad saying, "...also everyone should become Catholic" because I believe that if I'm living the right kind of life, you don't need to push religion down someone's throat--people can see your goodness and kindness and IF they are interested, they will ask. Jesus is an invitation, not a threat (if it is, you're doing it wrong!) I have friends that are Wiccan, Jewish, atheist, agnostic, etc. and I'm good with that and they are fine with me. I am actively working to change things in the Catholic church and where I live, and as an ally I will NOT give up.

It breaks my heart when people say and do horrible things in the name of God. The truth is that God created transgender people as the beautiful transgender people that they are. And God loves them unconditionally as the beautiful transgender people that they are.

I am a transgender Catholic priest (yes, there are a few of us and no, we’re not part of the Roman Catholic Church). Unlike the Roman church, independent Catholic Churches such as the Catholic Apostolic Church tend to be extremely liberal. We’re radically inclusive, lovingly sharing all the sacraments of the Catholic Church with no restriction. Our priests and our parishioners can be any gender, any gender identity, any orientation, and any marital status.

The film mentioned in the article likely implies that it is impossible to be both Catholic and transgender. While that may be the case in the Roman church, it is not true among the independents.

Very good thoughts, very strong, build a church that stands for something, the RCC is self-righteous, it doesn't control us.

I really wish these people who are struggling with their own identities and who need to do whatever works for THEM would just STF up and leave other people alone. This is an issue that affects so few people directly and yet there is such a divergence among those people as to paths forward that folks should be left to pursue care as they see fit - without interference from religious police in government and scum grifters like Prager.

I'm positive these "detranstioners" are being actively sought out and paid to create this propaganda.

And fawned over. These people go from the personal challenge of doing the work to understand themselves in an honest way to being lauded and fawned over as some kind of hero who has fought off "Satan" and has returned to tell the world the truth. And the sad truth is that these people seem to be broken insecure attention seekers who the right doesn't hesitate to use, grind up and discard when they are no longer useful to them.

Has any one kept a running total of how often and where the detransitioners-for-hire appear to recite their tales. Chloe Chanel turned up on a Channel 7 (Australia) urgent affairs show...because of a dearth of suitable candidates here I suspect.

I will have to have a look at the video, to get a sense of what we're dealing with here. I basically know, without even watching it, but there could be something specifically useful to deconstruct.

We are dealing with terrorists. They are actively terrorizing the Transgender community. They are using us as a means to generate hundreds of millions of dollars. I was born and raised Catholic. I went to Catholic schools all my life. The Catholic church is no better than Hamas. They have a centuries old history of abuse, death and cover-up. If given the opportunity, they would actively participate in our extermination.

I'm a "liberal" Christian who condemns Catholicism's hierarchy, and other denominational and congregational abusers and tyrants, grifters, but I've seen how even a sub-LGBTQ-friendly church can at least operate as a community and within a community that includes various people, and that there are modern churches which have trans pastors. The power of the Catholic church is incredibly more than what it should possess, the way they helped pedos and rapists get away with crimes, that's too much big money existing for them, too antithetical to any real concept of "Christianity". Middle finger to Pope Francis, too, for selling out.

I am so done with any religion. The religion that would even come close to aligning with my values is Buddhism. But even though they teach equality between genders and nuns can be ordained the same as monks, there are still rules known as the eight garudhammas imposed on the nuns which keeps them subordinate to monks.

Ah, and I was not disappointed, the detransitioned person refers to "grooming" 13-and-up year-olds, with Internet information, so we've reached the point where information itself is the enemy. What a shock, coming from a propaganda piece, it's the problem with so many who question conventional wisdom, what in turn makes them more trustworthy? Marginalizing trans people is the goal of the culture warriors, so of course their "information" has to deny real info, and magnify a misleading narrative.

This especially hurts to see, my younger brother did the exact same thing, except he didn't begin transition at all. We'd reconnected after several years, he'd been thrown out of his home by an abusive father, ended up in foster care, and was in Job Corp. He was horribly depressed, and looking for answers to happiness where ever he could find them, which made him incredibly vulnerable to being brought in by religion.

We'd reconnected for the first time since he was a small child, 4 then, and later 17. He was shocked to find out he had an older sister, not a brother, and proceeded to tell me he thought he'd been alone in the family with not feeling right in his body. I sent him resources, asked him a lot of questions, and let him know that in the end, it was ultimately up to him, he could even go on hrt for a little bit in addition to wearing femme clothes to see if he was actually a girl. But, before he could do that, some folks came to him promising him that all of the voids in his being would be filled by God.

He's done a complete 180 now, and has relentlessly tried to convert me and tell me I'm going to hell for transitioning. It hurts so bad because I know he was the victim, and because a possible chance to find some happiness was stolen away from him. I'm not angry at him, I'm angry at those who've manipulated him. I've sent him more info to try to counter it, but, he refuses to read it because it's all 'demonic'. Nobody can tell me the Christian church isn't mostly a cult.

Now and then he'll tell me he still wishes he was a girl, and then quickly thinks that every time he isn't happy, it's because he simply hasn't given enough of himself to the Christian god. I sincerely hope he can get away from that influence, he's almost as good as gone it feels :(

Our best chance against ex-trans narratives is to platform retransitioners, and detrans people who are trans-supportive. Some of them are pretty awesome, and they have the first-hand experience to reveal just how exploitative and abusive this ex-trans grift is.

We should also resist ceding the term "detrans" to the bigots. Detransitioning is a valid choice, and detrans people can be part of our community if they want to be and don't work against us.
