What is happening in the US is the exception to what appears to be happening everywhere else. This US administration is abusing it's entitlements and has created an artificial pretense of great magnitude of hatred toward transgender people. It will be reversed, not just on legal, but on multiple humanitarian grounds. This is not mentally stable and not base on anything but hate and complete disregard for sciences. It will collapse under its own weight of ineptitude and conflation. It will all fall apart. Please stand strong.

This is yet another escalation by this F--king DOJ under the Trump administration—targeting the medical records of transgender Americans after losing repeatedly in federal court.

Instead of respecting those rulings, they’ve gone forum shopping, filing in a deeply conservative jurisdiction to try to force a different outcome.

That’s not justice—it’s manipulation of the system.

Let’s be clear: this is a direct assault on privacy, on medical ethics, and on the fundamental dignity of an already vulnerable community.

A government that weaponizes personal health information to score ideological points has abandoned any claim to decency.

This administration’s obsession with attacking transgender people is relentless.

It shows no regard for science, no respect for the law when it doesn’t get its way, and no basic human compassion.

History will not be kind to this kind of cruelty.

This cannot be normalized.

This must be challenged in the courts, in our communities, and at the ballot box—because silence in the face of this kind of abuse is complicity.

WE MUST NOT GIVE IN

didn’t the ACLU just recently (2024?) have a lawyer get disciplined for judge shopping in a far less flagrant situation?

They need to tell Texas to fuck right off.

"The filing makes explicit that the DOJ wants to go directly after patients" ... for... "misbranding of drugs."

Yeah, that makes PERFECT sense! /s

Obviously the reason they want to go after patients is so that they can add them to the list of Americans to round up and throw in concentration camps (if they can't or won't detransition) - along with their medical providers, of course. This is described on p. 5 of the Project 2025 manifesto.

Students of history: Who else required lists of individuals who had committed no crime? What came next was placing a large "J" on their documents. Then, came the exclusion from public spaces. Next, came the yellow star on all clothing. And then....?

They can do this, but they can’t do squat about the Epstein files?

They are doing what they are being told to do with the epstein files, distract and destroy

How hard these bigots work to find clever ways to be evil. How dedicated they are to hatred, terror, and the victimization of genuinely good people. And how disappointing it is that so many people around us are too busy checking out the third round of the NFL Draft or QVC' "Today's Special Value" to give a f*ck about where this country has gotten to.

I have a very nasty feeling that the full meaning and impact of Rev. Martin Neimoller's words are about to become all too clear to a whole lot of people who just couldn't STAND Kamala's laugh.

Matthew 𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 Kacsmaryk again? That asshole is easily one of the worst things Trump has done to the federal judiciary, rivaled only by Aileen Cannon and his Supreme Court appointments... and because Kacsmaryk is still in his 40s, we're gonna have to keep dealing with his bullshit for 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘴 to come.

Since the measure being granted is near a certainty with that "judge", I hope it is quickly quashed at some higher level.

I am reminded that to win this as permanently as anything is ever won, we have to at some point argue and win in the basis of biology and the statistics of what is measured about it. What is objectively real is the only thing that can conclusively defeat the "whoo whoo" nature of the gender critical philosophical position -- and make it as dead as plogiston.

Thank you for the reporting, Erin.

We should put ALL these sorts of people on notice that they may later be convicted of crimes against humanity. Hopefully America will have its Nuremberg trials.

The odds that no one involved has fallen afoul of 42 U.S.C. § 1983, 18 U.S.C. § 241, & 18 U.S.C. § 242 in some way is near zero.

This article title is confusingly worded

Tzipi Ghibli's avatar

How? It seems about as precise as it can be without writing a paragraph-long title.

I knew exactly what to expect from the article when I read the title. I knew DOJ was trying to get some nutjob cas)) <û]] 65in front of that one nutjob judge (I didn't remember his name but knew why they wanted him).

I figured they wanted patient records in order to find some diabolical, cockamamie scheme to charge parents, doctors, or both with felonies.

To a trans woman like myself, the title was not ambiguous in the slightest. It was terrifyingly clear as a bell.

Sarah F's avatar

It confused me too. I had to read it a few times to understand it. I think the problem is that "Files" and "Move" can be read as either nouns or verbs, causing the reader to stumble.

Tzipi Ghibli's avatar

I can definitely understand that.

And to be fair (or unfair as it may be, a weird neurodivergent advantage), I DID consistently score in the 98th and 99th percentiles on those endless, brain-frying "reading comprehension" standardized tests.

You know the ones! Where they gave you a couple sentences or a short paragraph, and then some multiple choice questions that were trying to lead you into EXACTLY those kinds of stumbles - did you confuse a noun with a verb form of the same word, etc?

40 years down the road, I now know precisely, specifically where that gift comes into play! It's in parsing lengthy, somewhat vague headlines. Next up - the quadratic formula... I was really good at solving quadratic equations. However, I still have absolutely no idea why this should be advantageous in life, or even why quadratic equations exist at all.

Can anyone help me with that one?

WTF? These people are dirty. This country is done. Can we start fund-raising to buy a large island in the South Pacific?

Maybe we could build an island in shallow international waters with dredge spoils - like the Chinese do. That way we could be a sovereign nation with our own laws. ;-)
