Full disclosure: this writer is not paid by Dr. Martens, but she does own a pair of super queer docs herself:

Comparing top surgery to cutting off your right arm... because how can you drive without having boobs?? Or write?? Or text??

Somehow I don’t own any pairs... yet.

It’s seemingly always the case that these attacks are kicked off by lies - why is that? Fake outrage is so cringey and these people need to be called out for their bs.

Also I hope this company responds by mass producing this design and donating profits to the ACLU or HRC 😂

If only the anti-"woke" contingent would get this angry about gun violence, maybe we could solve that very real problem instead of inventing pretend problems.

I've got to wonder if the best response from Dr. Martin's isn't just to ignore the hate campaign and just keep doing what they do. These people are looking for a fight, and for validation. Maybe the best strategy for a company is to continue support for lgbtq interests and leave the transphobes in their tiny fringe corner. I understand that individuals must push back against hate; I'm only talking about companies. I think the only reason the hate groups keep doing this is that in the cases of Bud Light and Target it worked.

I don't believe Doc Marten should respond to the conservative contingent, I do think they should issuexa statement to their queer peeps. Matter of fact, simple, just, we will always support...yada yada. Let the Queer community know you stand with them and we'll protect your brand! https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/pride

It really is kinda creepy how so much of gender criticism and terfism is so focused on child sexuality.

I just bought a pair of gorgeous lavender sandals from Docs, before this controversy. Off to buy my son Wednesday Pride boots for his birthday. Docs is All In and will stand by the queer community... as they always have. We should drop them a line to let them know we appreciate them! Thanks Erin, for the heads-up!

I saw the design on the Docs website, but it didn't seem to be eligible for purchase.

I do love, and have received so many compliments on, the Pride Edition Docs that I bought back in 2020... Almost standard going to a show wear. And for everyday wear, I have a pair of Converse Chuck's in the trans flag colors...

The one-off boots are given to artists to create what they want... They're for personal use and social media sharing by artists, but they don't sell the designs.

This is just a guess but it's entirely possible that Docs can actually benefit from this attack with increased sales. I sure hope that's the case, anyway.

I hope Doc Martens does not allow itself to be beaten down by these horrid transphobic people. Bud Light backtracked and it didn’t help them at all. Companies need to stand their ground and stand up for what is right.

Are these the same mental midgets going after a marketing mascot for Costa Coffee that has top scars as well?

CW: the usual transphobia and idiocy that one can expect from TERF island and GC brilliance.

Who ever doubted, in the history of Dr. Marten’s boots, that they were anything but an egalitarian, you be you, “woke” kind of company. If anyone ‘cuts the breasts of a healthy girl’, I hope they spend the rest of their life in prison. Transgender M who were not able to or did not for whatever reason start on a puberty blocker before they began to develop F secondary sex characteristics may choose top surgery at or close to 18 years of age. No 17 year old girl/young woman/human wakes up to have a double mastectomy because she wants to ‘be woke.’ Girl, I got my 10-hole bright blue Dr. Marten’s boots I bought in 1986 from Assassins in Dallas. It was the only store in town that sold them. Ari was also a DJ on KNON (formerly 90.9, now 89.3FM). They’re a little stiff but I refuse to get rid of them.

So the shoes aren’t even available for purchase and they are calling for a boycott?

TBH I doubt anyone wearing DMs would be supporting this nonsense anyway

DM USA - we could support by liking their IG and in particular these boots
