Well i'm glad to hear this, we'll have to see what SCOTUS says, as trump will most likely appeal it to them. Whatever they say, they can take away our funding, but they cannot silence artists. We will continue making art, and we will be prolific.
As much as I’d like to revel in this “good” news, lower court rulings mean little to me these days in the way of encouragement. The reason, of course, is that the administration will just fast track everything to SCOTUS which, for months now, has rubber-stamped pretty much its every desire. As we will see in a few days or weeks, that is what will happen with the passport case, and it will be devastating. So while I understand it’s Erin’s duty to report “good” news like this when it happens, just recognize it’s like a frog trying to crawl out of a damp well, that achieves two feet during the day and then slides back three feet at night.
The courts are doing what they should do standing up for the constitution and peoples rights - However when this or any other court decisions that trump does not like and takes it to the Supreme Court he will probably get his way since this Supreme Court does not follow the constitution
Like we know scotus will rubber stamp most things but I’m so so grateful to Erin for reporting on this. This is a record of history. Despite where this is going, the lower courts are doing a lot of good that I want all of us to remember in the future. It also shows scotus how blatantly unconstitutional they’ve been acting. Paper trails. Recorded history. We’re not going to forget.
So far, this has been a good week for Free Speech! I truly feel that the more significant news is Jimmy Kimmel returning to the air and the FCC fascist backing down. Everyday people may not care about a play about gender roles in Shakespearian acting. But they do care very much about our nation's comedians, who are the most cutting political commenters in any society. And trust me that an empathetic straight white male comedian on late night is potentially our most powerful advocate.
It also reminds me of reels on IG or TT of people making fun of modern art video clips like bro, that’s fascist stuff. To make fun of modern art especially and convince you it’s not worth anything to society.

one of these small groups that actually fought the lawsuits rather than caving should give Jimmy Kimmel a time slot and tell him to f*g it up a little

I'm glad to hear it. Very glad.
When I hear it from SCOTUS I'll be more glad.

Rulings like these would be far more exciting if SCROTUS showed even the slightest bit of interest in detaching its lips from Dear Leader's taint.
At least for now.
Speaking of the sidewalk chalk in Orlando, what's happening there now? So much news has overwhelmed that.
