It’s good to see a state go from light blue to dark blue! We should at least take some comfort in that!

It is really nice to change a state to dark blue.

I find this to be so helpful. We are helping out trans child pick colleges and even tho she wants to stay in state (Ohio) at least we know where better alternatives are. Also, Florida is such a shitshow.

I know first hand that Goucher in Baltimore is an excellent choice and both Baltimore and Philadelphia have strong trans communities

I decided to run for House of Representatives in Washington state based on Republican attacks on trans rights in the state. We can't stay a safe state if they are abusing the ballot initiative process to pass hateful legislation.

I don't know if you'll see this, Erin, but I could use any help getting the word out about the campaign. As far as I know, I'm the only trans woman running for state legislature. (unless there's anyone else out there, I haven't been made aware of)

These maps are always so helpful and timely - thanks Erin! To me it shows that the country’s polarization on the issue just continues to deepen. It’s really nice to add a dark blue safe state! (Maine)

What do you think is the risk level for a trans guy visiting Texas? My friend lives in Austin, which is liberal, but I'd have to pass through the airport and public bathrooms in other places along the way if I went to see her. I usually pass...until my son calls me "Mommy" :0

Austin is fairly safe. Texas is somewhat scary though. I will say that Texas does not have a bathroom ban legally, but there may be places where people give you trouble. Sticking to Austin will likely keep you safe though.

Erin, thank you sooooo much for all you do. I met another trans-parent this weekend at a Free Mom Hugs event where she and her daughter moved from OK to VT to escape the trans-panic. Your maps are essential for folks making very difficult decisions.

I'm curious about why my home state of Washington is listed as low risk on the youth risk assessment rather than as one of the safest states.

That NE Executive Order is so badly written to be illegible. Not only does it negate transgender individuals inappropriately, it also targets intersex people.
