Wisconsin NB here who won reelection to school board and beat a Moms for Liberty endorsed candidate! Grateful for the Chris Taylor’s campaign because it certainly helped me out!
Congrats, Judge Taylor! Here's hoping that the cultural pendulum is starting to swing away from where the extreme right stands today. Also: that Lazar ad is SO CRINGE.
"Democratic strategists at organizations like Third Way and the Searchlight Institute urged candidates to throw transgender people under the bus—to "moderate" on trans issues, to treat us as a political liability. "
It would be a good thing and reassuring, for those strategists to retire for a cycle or three, have an epiphany, and reinvent themselves entire . . . possibly taking up used car sales.
It seems they simply look at polls and voting blocks without any notion that they could shape or reshape the narrative. Very shortsighted and counterproductive for our representative democracy. (IMHO)
This is very good news for Wisconsin, but unfortunately it will probably not slow down the GOP strategy of anti-trans attack ads in future elections. They are too committed to this path to stop now, even though it’s not working for them any more.
The commonly seen electoral shift away from the GOP even in deep red areas is by a minimum of 15%. The GOP kept Marjorie Taylor Greene's resigned seat, but the shift there was by over 25%.
At this rate, the midterms will be an utter bloodbath for the GOP, and the Ds will take the House and the Senate by 55/45 or so. A good third of remaining GOP Senators will be sweating bullets and Trump! and company thereby removable.
It's still far from a guarantee, but... it would make my whole 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘺 if they rode this culture war shit right into the fucking ground; it's exactly the demise they deserve. Trouble is, I don't know if my face is physically capable of that big a grin. I might hurt myself celebrating.
In the recent Wisconsin Supreme Court race (widely analyzed as a bellwether), the conservative candidate and aligned groups leaned heavily on culture-war messaging, including attacks tied to gender issues. The liberal candidate won by a significant margin.
Voters were more motivated by abortion rights, democracy issues, and judicial independence
The race became a referendum on broader rights, not niche culture-war framing
Heavy negative messaging didn’t expand the conservative base—it mostly just energized the opposition
When the racist, bigoted Republicans learn that anti-trans rhetoric does not work.
Great news for Wisconsin- and the continuing trend is great news for the whole country. I just wish it hadn't taken a solid decade of this evil for our shit-stupid electorate to finally wake up and smell the coffee.

Thank you for having the courage and being willing to step into public office. May you have a long tenure and significant impact.
Congrats on your win!
Wow! What an awesome election result and counter point to the transphobic rightwing dingbat’s messaging and strategy. Bam!
And the transphobic leftwing.
Congrats, Judge Taylor! Here's hoping that the cultural pendulum is starting to swing away from where the extreme right stands today. Also: that Lazar ad is SO CRINGE.
"Anti-Trans Attack Ads Fail Again As Wisconsin Liberal Wins Supreme Court By Historic 20-Point Margin"
Great! Thank you for the reporting!
When do they quit trying, and when do Dems counterattack about it in like measure to how the Social Conservatives have been all in?
Gives me hope for this country!

They don't look at anything they just go with 30 year old vibes. All political consultants do.

Good news!
Hopefully this trend is a sign for good things to come during the midterms.
Hooray!! We're lovin' on them cheeseheads today!! (Well, most of 'em.)
