Within minutes of me posting this, yet another elementary school has been targeted with bomb threats after being targeted by Chaya.

She needs to go to jail for a loooong time and be permanently banned from social media. Psychopathic terrorist.

Oh yes, absolutely, “protect the kids” from those “groomers” by..... threatening to bomb the school. Makes perfect sense. It’s all about protecting the kids. 🙄

Exactly what I came to say

They’re traumatizing kids by threatening their lives. These are terrorists and it’d be nice if they could start being held accountable

I came to say it too! Protect the kids, let's blow them up! America becomes dumber by the day. Yes I am American, just see it as it is.

That was exactly why I came to comment on here too. How are you supposed to protect the kids when you've blown them up? Is that so they can't be "groomed"?

> Ironically, these institutions will likely find themselves ramping up security measures to safeguard their students from accounts that purport to act "to protect kids” from LGBTQ+ people.

Because nothing says "we need to protect children" by making places where they congregate targets of violence. Real smooth brain there.

Right, they will protect them, by killing them! Take that you LGBTQ people....I just can't fathom these idiot's way of thinking.

See, that's your problem, you're assuming that the fascists are thinking. They don't. They just react.

This is *horrible*, but ultimately I think it's going to be self-defeating. Reasonable people can be stirred up by reality-distorting propaganda about "boys" playing on girls' sports teams or in girls' changing rooms. But bomb threats - real, actual terrorism - are only ever an effective tactic for a violently oppressed population.

Then again, that's what so many cishet white conservative Christians have deluded themselves into believing - that they are a violently oppressed population.

Fraudulently yelling "fire" in a crowded theater is not protected speech. Why is this horrible person allowed to get away with this?

Interesting article, but since literally everyone who read my post understood what I meant I'm not going to change it. Thank you though. 🙂

No problem! I just thought you would be interested in the actual legal history behind that idiom. It’s fine that you don’t!

A small neighborhood bookstore near me had an all ages drag story time scheduled for yesterday. Shut down by a bomb threat.

Our mayor responded with this-

"I cannot say this strongly enough, EVERYONE belongs in Salt Lake City," Mendenhall said. "The actions today to cause fear at @KingsEnglish around a drag story time event are not welcome here. We’re looking forward to working with King’s English, so this event can happen at a future date for all those who wanted to be there today."

All of these acts of domestic terrorism must to be followed up with vigorous and thorough investigations and prosecutions.

So she gets away with being terrorist under the guise of “free speech”. Facts.

Why are people not flipping the script on her? Surely letting people know where she is at all times should be legal too. Have a private detective follow her and map her out on Google all day & night. I mean; it would just be free speech, right?

I wonder about things like this too. I believe Musk took action after someone created a website posting his whereabouts. It's infuriating though that hateful bigots are given so much latitude to harass and intimidate others just for existing, and that there's so little latitude to respond. When SCOTUS rolled back non-discrimination protections based on a fake wedding cake request and so called religious freedom, it made me wonder if I could claim that my religious beliefs are that bad people deserve to suffer and die and use that as a defense. Theoretical of course, but it points out the absurdity of SCOTUS rolling back non-discrimination based on a made up case.

I hate to say it, but I do think in part we are reaping what some on the left pushed for with free speech online. After reading this article today, I sent a rather pointed message to a certain organization for civil liberties that pushed to shield organizations from liability for user content online. I said that rather than creating free and open dialogue, shielding organizations from liability is pushing many marginalized people from the digital commons and is allowing hate groups to organize online with impunity; I pointed out that they helped create this monster and asked what they are planning to do about it now.

I doubt I'll get a response from the organization, but I would love to be part of a lawsuit that challenges shielding organizations from liability for user content. It would go a long way I think towards combating disinformation and hate online, and if it cuts down revenue for Musk and Zuckerberg that would be a bonus!

> As more schools and businesses face hostility simply for displaying a Pride flag, LGBTQ+ advocates and allies are left questioning why online social media platforms continue to tolerate such virulent hate content.

Rage creates engagement. Engagement makes money. Until we start actually holding social media accountable this will continue.

Unfortunately in this case, the bigotry here is expressely supported and encouraged by the X/Twitter CEO. Shouldn't be suprising given his recent comments about why he supposedly purchased Twitter.
