If you are registered to vote in your state, please be sure to check your current voter registration status at the secretary of state’s site for your state. I just checked mine in CA and it is not finding me, even though I received a ballot and voted in the primary earlier this year. I've been registered under my current name, etc., for over 20 years. I've written to the indicated offices to find out what's goin on.
The same thing happened to me in San Francisco because I put in the last dour digits of mu SSN, but I didn’t put in my drivers license number. I also voted in the primary. This was at https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/ All four times it came up as "We may need more information to find your record" and gave me addresses to write to. When I checked my spouse's info, it came up right away.
That’s really weird. If you have a couple of hours to waste, is it worth it to go in person to the county clerk’s office, or wherever the voter reg is handled? What possible other information could they need other than those numbers? Did you change email addresses since the primary? Or jobs? The amount of surveillance data they have to match is probably more than we know. I am sorry that the voter system is glitching, and I hope you get it worked out so you can vote🤞
My daughter went to a great Parkour gym in Southlake. They accepted her for who she was. We now live in Washington. This is just one more thing from the ignorant pricks in Texas.
Once again, a city council in Texas has denied a permit for an LGBTQ+ gathering intended simply to celebrate and come together—without, apparently, providing a clear explanation for the decision.
If these officials believe denying a permit will make the LGBTQ+ community disappear, they have badly misunderstood the people they are dealing with. This community is not going anywhere. If anything, actions like this can strengthen the determination to demand transparency, challenge discrimination, and hold elected officials accountable for their decisions.
City councils should remember something very important: LGBTQ+ people are members of their communities, they have families and allies, and they vote. They deserve the same respect, rights, and freedom to gather and celebrate as everyone else.
You cannot silence a community simply by denying it a permit. You only give that community another reason to stand up and be heard.
This is really terrible. I’m so proud of the organizers for staying loud, pushing back and planning other LGBTQ+ events.

I've been waiting for something like this to happen. Looks like they may finally be catching up.
