Every day, we live in a world where our identities are questioned, debated, doubted, dismissed, or distorted.

And yet, we stand here, alive, present, trying to build lives, build families, build futures. Any action opposed to that shows not a penchant for “common sense” as often the default argument, it shows a propensity for hate and intolerance.

These are veterans, individuals that promised their lives as they swore an oath to this country. A gift they gave, and we took it for their years of service. We owe them respect and dignity…not this.

A fundamental principle of regulatory fairness is to 'grandfather in' those established practitioners when professional rules are changed. To effectively invalidate an individual's entire working life with the stroke of a pen is unjust and utterly unconscionable.

Unconscionable and a cowardly act. This isn’t just illegal, this is blatant, targeted discrimination. As counter intuitive as this will sound, bear with me. I welcome this choice. I don’t welcome it happily, but I see the counter suit, the appeals and the precedent that this will lead to. The arguments made by this administration are basic, “we make the rules, so you follow those decrees.” There is no basis of following grandfather clauses and best practices that are equitable. It is a gold mine for discovery in this. Project 2025 and EOs prove that harm and exclusion is the point. If that is the point, then legal challenges will succeed. In my opinion.

That's an interesting strategic perspective Tabris. Yes, seeing this overreach as a gift for future legal challenges is wise. I trust you're exactly correct about the precedent.

I am absolutely supportive of the positive outcome you’ve explained. While at the same time continuing to voice my opposition to this administration’s immediate ethical breach of invalidating established careers. This administration by it character remains unconscionable.

We should absolutely continue to fight every fight they start. Last week I was angry and lost. I felt hopeless facing this wall of oppression. I can’t explain the what turned inside me, but I had it. I sat down and read, researched, I asked questions and informed myself. I analyzed the problem and saw that wall was only as strong as the bricks it was built with, and those bricks were weak. I found legal arguments and precedents that work for us. I wrote a brief and submitted the first one to the ACLU to test the waters in challenging these orders and decisions.

To summarize it. Our identity is our 1st amendment right. Forcing our gender marker defined identity is compelled language and that is a direct violation of our 1st Amendment rights. I will push this, shout this and fight for this because we are right about who we are.

Republicans never, ever cared about veterans. It was all political posturing and another tool for their political machine.

More of, the cruelty is their point. To hell with this administration.

The people engineering, funding, and carrying out the propaganda campaign and enacting the laws and policies against transgender people must face 42 U.S.C. § 1983, 18 U.S.C. § 241, & 18 U.S.C. § 242 prosecution.

Some must get a needle or a rope, at least and handful of them.

Just another dispicable move by this administration to deprive members of the military regardless of their sexual preferences who have served their country with honor. I just don’t know how this administration sleeps at night - they have no conscience and no morals - IT IS ONLY RIGHT THAT WE PROVIDE FOR THESE SERVICE MEMBERS AS WE WOULD FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE MILITARY- ALL STATES SHOILD TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE

The government is doing its best to erase the existence of trans people so it can respond to complaints of discrimination by denying the existence of offended parties. It is part of an alternative universe they are creating (and which too many people choose to live in) — denying the existence of trans people, demanding that all LGBTQ people defined as the subhuman creations of ‘groomers,’ putting ALL women ‘in their place,’ and reserving the rights and benefits of citizenship in this most wealthy nation to those who identify as white [cis]male heterosexual evangelist Christians.

None of us civilians deserve what vets have given us, but the disgraceful ones causing this deserve it even less. Thank you vets and so sorry for all the harm this has caused any of you 💔
