Van Jones was 100% correct during the election when he said that "Republicans get to be lawless while Democrats have to be flawless."

Calling them people is too generous a term for these skumbag Republicans. They won't stop until we are in the ground by their hand and tortured in their detention camps.

I am so.fucking.tired.of identifying ALLLLL the ways this administration is commiting illegal acts. It's doesn't mean a thing if NOTHING is being done about it. We know they're corrupt. We know they're committing crimes--WHY WON'T ANYONE DO ANYTHING?!

Because the Republicans have insulated themselves from retribution. A majority of congressional seats are challenge proof and after the midterm redistricting that number is approaching 95%. The Senate filibuster permanently renders that chamber useless. The GOPMAGAs have captured a majority of courts, prosecutors, and 85% of media.

Checks and balances are dead and gone.

Political power has been permanently decoupled from the electoral process and is now tied to the holding of the largest concentrations of capital and liquidity. The era of democracy has concluded; poorly.

I'm in an awful place right now. I want to call my senators to hold fast and not cave. I don't want to lost my trans healthcare. But I also rely on food stamps to not starve. I have been hospitalized because of malnutrition already twice this year and it's only going to get worse. Now I don't know what to do.

I just found out that the state I live in WILL receive my SNAP benefits in November. So that's making it a little easier.

Where do you live? Food banks hopefully nearby! Plume online has a program for folks in need!

Thank you for that site. Living in Washington State, I haven't had to worry too much about losing my GAHT. The problem is being on disability and not being able to afford rent, food, electricity, and so on. I do what I can, I'm just waiting for the eviction notice to be delivered. I've been able to keep lights on because our provider is awesome! But lately the struggle just seems to get harder and something like this almost pushes me over the edge. Plume will hopefully be a source for me to try and get help, or at least someone to talk to.

Republicans make it very clear that we are not human and that as far as they are concerned, it is legal to kill us. That is unfortunate and the damage already done will take decades to repair. I've spent 15 years advocating for equal recognition under the law for Trans, intersex, and gender expansive Americans and now I have to face the fact that we won't even get back to where we were in 2022 before I die. When my life ends, I will die with fewer rights despite the effort.

This is a bitter pill to swallow as I approach 60. I would just as soon live as long as possible but with the increasing difficulties in attaining healthcare that's a different statistical proposition than it was just three years ago.

There's blood on the hands of Republicans.

Of course, blame the Jews for expiring SNAP benefits. Oh wait! It’s not 1933 Germany when Jews got blamed for society’s ills, but 2025 America when trans have replaced Jews as enemies of the state.

If we had 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘧 as much political influence as Republicans want their base to 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 we do, we'd have right-to-transition laws and universal healthcare by now.

Something to remind Democratic lawmakers: This is direct and incontrovertible evidence that they will get blamed for prioritizing so-called "mutilation" of trans children no matter what their stance is, just like they will be called radical leftists, Marxists, etc., no matter the details of their policy stances. The fallacy of appeasing propagandists is that their narrative is already detached from truth and will always be. Therefore the low-information voter is a lost cause. So why not stand up for what is right? Why alienate the high-information voters who understand our issues?

Excellent point, Sarah. But what will it take to convince Dems that if they're to be hung for being the goat, they had might as well at least have the dignity to be hung as rams?

Basically, we point out how they are alienating progressives, while not replacing that support from the MAGA cult. MAGA will never love them. Progressives will, if they remain progressive. Above all, absolutely nobody has any respect for a sell-out or a turn-coat.

As the allegations become more ridiculous, the opportunity for a boomerang to hit these losers hard grows stronger and stronger - PLEASE DEMS - run adds showing the Kamala they/them then show the AI of Trump littering shitting on us with the banner reading "Trump is not for us, he is for Sh**ing on us! They just get more laughable and ludicrous.

Dems will cave. It's all they know how to do now. They will never go to the wall to protect US, or intersex or LGB people. They have no spines, or at least, only a handful do.

In line with the obvious lies published by the USDA, Pulitzer Prize winning writer Anne Applebaum, whose scholarship is on the horrors of the Soviet Union and authoritarian governments in general, published an article earlier today in The Atlantic. A relevant excerpt:

"If people don’t believe anything they read anywhere, then they won’t be motivated to argue, to discuss, or even to engage in politics. Modern authoritarian propaganda, of the kind we are about to receive from the Pentagon and perhaps other government agencies, isn’t designed to produce true believers or mass movements. It’s designed to produce apathy."

Strength and courage to us all.

Maybe one more, but after Republicans dominate the midterms with freshly gerrymandered election proof redistricting they will be immune to punishment at the ballot box. After that there's nothing to stop them from a total anti-democracy anschluss.
