Clearly, this is unconstitutional discrimination. GAC begins before and during puberty, continuing however long it is pursued by the individual and their family, the Epstein-pal president can bite me if he thinks he can just win an election and order this BS, it's laughable. Who the hell is he? President isn't king. It isn't dictator. It isn't a permanent job. It's a four-year term he's elected to, responsible for what he does with it, I want to give him immunity in exchange for resigning, but it's only because I see through the game being played, he's exposing the Republicans et al for the bastards they are, doing a good job of that, but nevertheless it involves abusing his power on the surface and that has to be addressed even if as a reprieve.
Yes the Alito court ignores the constitution outright, but that's why they're going to find that Kate Cox is going to sue Texas for about 50 million bucks or something.
One component to investigate further is whether states are allowed to use state-only Medicaid and CHP funding to continue covering gender-affirming treatments (GAT) for youth. If so, which states will do so? In the grand scheme of Medicaid spend on medications, the cost of puberty blockers and hormones for GAT in youth is minuscule.
Also, I am not sure how you would report on this, but are there individual physicians out there who are using a different diagnostic code on the claim so the use of these meds do not appear as GAT? Medications used for GAT in youth are used much more often for other indications.
I hope that Democratic AGs are ready with a lawsuit!!
Hegseth is showing how the Republicans want to treat the military like a thing to aspire to, rather than a living hell one submits to for a greater good. It's great reverse psychology, but in the meantime, it involves discrimination against trans people in the service - we have to put up a fight with that. Bill Hicks said it best, "ANYONE, DUMB ENOUGH" to enlist should be allowed in.
Here we go again: our supposedly “caring” president is once again putting politics and ideology ahead of the health and well-being of transgender youth.
The Trump administration has finalized a rule that will end federal Medicaid and CHIP funding for gender-affirming care for transgender minors, including hormone therapy, puberty blockers and certain surgical procedures. The rule is scheduled to take effect October 13.
Where is the medical evidence that justifies the federal government making these deeply personal decisions for families and their doctors? Major medical organizations continue to recognize gender-affirming care as appropriate, individualized healthcare for some transgender youth.
This is not about protecting children. It is about politicians taking medical decisions away from parents, patients and healthcare professionals.
And there is an important point we must not forget: states can still choose to provide and fund these services. Some states are already preparing to do exactly that.
We have also seen federal courts push back against earlier attempts by this administration to interfere with medically necessary care for transgender youth. In March, a federal court blocked the administration from threatening hospitals and clinics with the loss of Medicare and Medicaid funding because they provided this care.
I courts must once again stand up for the rule of law, medical freedom and the right of families to make healthcare decisions with their doctors.
Transgender children deserve healthcare, dignity and compassion—not political punishment. We cannot allow bigotry and ideology to replace medical judgment.
We need a blue state to declare that a persons real sex actually changes after some condition is met, two years of testosterone suppression and E, or two years of T, and a legal name change. Something like that would make it stop being “gender-affirming” and make it immune to claims of “sex rejecting procedure”
Or some similar set of conditions. It would make trans healthcare about changing our sex again, like it was mostly about before the 2010’s.
I fear that the evil and tyrannical Trump régime will enact a Hyde-Amendment-like rule that bans any federal funds being spent on any gender-affirming care whatsoever.
Considering what they're doing now, and that the SCOTUS is not a legitimate court but a fascist rubber stamp, I don't think I'm overreacting.
They will come after all of us.

Clearly, it's not that clear because SCOTUS rules against trans people every time.

Vote in November as if your life depends on it. Because it might.

Waiting for the NDAA for 2027 to drop. Threatening to stop all gender care.

TY Baum.
The takeaway here ism get loudly on the horn. All of them.

There were problems back in the day, but we’re falling apart calling sex-trait-modification as gender-affirming.
