Republicans play Dparty leaders as fool. A republican can come out and say , put all LGBQ people in reeducation camps and net voters. Dems say no just hold them under house arrest and they will still lose voters. You can not out republican them. You just look like tools and losers. If you can’t make a stand against wrong you will be standing with the right.
And if I was in Ohio I would vote a blue ticket and use a no vote against them. I have stopped supporting the D candidates who pile on Trans people.look at what we did in Massachusetts

I am totally disgusted by the treatment of LGBTQ+ communities and, in particular, by the Kaptur campaign’s recent anti-trans ads and its failure to engage in a respectful dialogue with these communities.
You cannot attack or marginalize transgender people and then expect LGBTQ+ communities and their allies to simply turn around and provide political support. Respect, dignity, and meaningful engagement matter.
LGBTQ+ people deserve to be treated as full members of our communities—not as political targets or people whose support can be taken for granted. Given the campaign’s recent approach, I see no reason for LGBTQ+ communities and their allies to provide that support without meaningful accountability and a clear change in approach.
If this is the case does it make any difference who is elected?
I get that Ohio isn't necessarily a "liberal bastion", but I genuinely do not understand Democrats' willingness to capitulate to Republican framing and ideas. There's a ton of disaffected voters on the left who look at our bogus two-party system and just refuse to vote at all because one side is actively evil and the other side is constantly capitulating to them. It's not like any republican voters are actually gonna vote for a Democrat just because the Democrat also said they hate trans people. No amount of anti-trans statements from a Democrat is gonna make the republican candidate stop running attack ads solely on the trans issue. It's literally the only thing the republicans have to run on at this point, it's the only thing they can show "progress" on to their voters, and even their voters don't care when diesel is at record highs and the entire country is constantly strapped for cash.
Dems need to own their position, and start coming up with ways to counter the republican framing to make it look as stupid and thoughtless as it is. "Sex change surgeries on minors" sounds scary, until you stop for half a second to actually think critically about the issue. The counter message doesn't even have to involve trans people. Just say "my opponent is obsessed with what's in your pants. I'm focused on what really matters" and list all the issues people ACTUALLY care about. It's really not that hard.
I'm so sick of this whole country getting dragged to the right regardless of what side you vote for.
Honestly, this is just like Ohio Democrats! Thank goodness for the Pride Caucus. They sound like good folks. Let's hope they stand their ground and get ugly if they have to.

I’m not wild about some of Sherrod Brown’s comments regarding trans girls in sports but he hasn’t sunk to the depths that Acton and Kaptur have and taking the Senate would help stop some of the federal assault on LGBTQIA+ rights.

I just saw 4 Republican ads on Fox8 today in Cleveland, which focused on trans surgeries, forced upon kids. Another had someone representing themselves as a trans person with a grudge, who was forced to transition. That one was probably a paid detransitioner.
These ads are disgraceful and being aimed at the stupidest, most uninformed people out there. Are the legal experts in our corner watching this? Are there lawsuits pending to stop this?
What can citizens do to get the TV stations to remove this bullsquash??

I’m hopeful that if Kaptur, Acton and Brown win their races, the negative issues related to Transgender will quietly go away or be discouraged from bringing forth any anti trans issues. I don’t think they made the right move on Trans issues as they would have been better off supporting them, but I still think Kaptur, Acton and Brown will be better friends on all LGBTQ issues than their opponents. Considering what’s at stake on all the other world issues, having a Democratic House and Senate is the only way to hold our Democracy together.

Never have I seen a crop of Democrats so determined to turn a blue wave blood red before it gets halfway to the beach.
