Proving again that everything is bigger in Texas, especially the bigotry and ignorance.

Plato banned because gender, and not because pedophile.

… Yeah, actually, that totally tracks!

In the world that existed twenty years ago, it would have been incredibly hard to imagine the intense national politicization and polarization around trans people….back then the issue was viewed/understood in mainly medical terms and involving only a very small group of people. That is what I think younger trans people fail to fully grasp…how bizarre the current environment is. What is going on in Texas is just an extreme part of it. The dystopia we have now was fueled and orchestrated, intentionally and with major legal, emotional and financial resources behind it. None of this is an accident.

Red states are not safe for trans people. Really nowhere is, but especially not red states.

What can you expect from a Texas university that dose not believe in a well rounded education and whose state and educational institutions have bent over backwards to this racist administration. I feel very sorry for this professor, the students of any educational institution in Texas and the people if this state. They are the loosers

Honestly, Plato was pretty woke for his time. Being banned by a Texas school for woke should be a badge of honor.

Coming to a conservative college near you - the New Free Thinker program:

War is Peace

Ignorance is Strength

Freedom is Slavery

Big Brother is Watching You

We are here. If I hear one more "liberal" tell me "Oh it won't be that bad, that'll never happen" I'm gonna start punching "liberals", too. I don't know when the Democrats and these so called 'liberals' started becoming roll-over apologists, but this is absurd.

You want freedom? Capitulation won't get it for you. Burying your head in the sand won't get it for you. Just hoping it will all go away will simply get us all killed while giving them gratitude for doing it.

If we're going to be rid of the fascists there is only one way - depose them. Either through peaceful means like showing up to elections in such numbers that they can't ignore, get out onto the streets and protest and march and demonstrate in such numbers that they can't ignore, and simply stopping all work - no open stores, no open businesses, no open country at all, no money for the disgustingly wealthy - or all of these combined. The non-peaceful means to depose them, well, you know what that means, but they may actually give us no choice.

Trump is deploying DHS like his own personal military, and armed conflict may be a foregone conclusion at this point. Minneapolis and Portland may become ground zero.

We left rationality behind a long time ago. If anyone thinks we can talk this out, they're delusional. The regime has to be REMOVED.

As a professor myself, I’d probably be banned from every school in Texas…and proudly so.

And I teach business…

But I teach it as lessons in critical thought and skepticism (competition drives innovation, and critical thinking is integral to innovating).

I loved Erin in the Morn pushing back and asking TAMU to justify their punitive transphobic attack on the First Amendment and academic freedom by referencing the Bible and medical textbooks. Of course TAMU had no response, because banning the Bible would require their MAGA leadership team to fall on their sword - and they are cowardly Trump sycophants.

Wow, so it took 2500 years for Plato to make transphobic heads explode?!

The student basically says that they dont believe in biology. Well, if they take a pain killer, see a doctor, or ever step foot in a medical clinic for so much as a hangnail, I would like to know their litmus test/framework for what is biology that they are permitted to believe in and biology they arent.

Wait 'til they find out about all that crossdressing and gender swap stuff in Shakespeare. Although they're unlikely to because that would mean having to actually read or see his plays and we know MAGA ain't interested in that..

Philosophy major here, not teaching Plato is an affront to western philosophy as a whole.

It reads like a satire on conservative ideology. It would be funny if it wasn't actually happening. This just boggles the mind.

To any queer Aggies reading this, please know: you are loved, you are valued, and your identity is real. Aggie values include Respect for yourself and Integrity to be honest and truthful about who you are. I’m so sorry that the politicians posing as university leadership don’t embody the values they like to brag about. Love and support from Class of ‘18.
