Trump's entire anti-DEI agenda and the literal whitewashing of military history going on right now is having FAR more impact on morale than the presence of trans soldiers. The US military is one of THE most diverse organizations in the country with upwards of one third being people of color. Being told that your history doesn't matter is devastating.

Exactly. They are so blind to the multiple issues here, not just their animus to trans people.

I have so much respect for my trans siblings for serving in the military. I couldn't even imagine myself serving before or after my transition. I am not brave enough or dedicated enough to our country. I imagine it takes a whole different level of dedication to be trans and in the military. I don't understand why those on the right can not see that. Idiots!!!

I so love your comment. As a Queer ally ( always feel the need to say that) the word brave truly stands out. I think all trans are so incredibly brave. Supportive family and friends being brave. I have white adult friends that are fearful to even put a bumper sticker on their car or sign in their yard. Brave to serve in the military goes way beyond brave. My fear is that if I don't put signs and bumper stickers not to mention t-shirt messages I could be mistaken for a felon follower. YES "Brave" is the word I will use more frequently now.

I don't know what we would do without these federal judges continually blocking Trump's ridiculous nonsense. I am nervous for every one of these causes that get appealed up to the Supreme Court. Maybe they will get backlogged so much with all these lawsuits that they won't have time to defend Trump before it all implodes and we get new leadership.

Nothing this Fascist admin does is backed up by Facts and Evidence to Support Their Claims and Narratives! I dare either of them to Walk/March in this Transgender Veteran’s boots who experienced the military of the seventies! It would have been a Death Sentence back then to be outed! 👿

I love so much about this decision. I mean of course it’s correct. But also the government position is un-historical, ungrateful and just mean. And unscientific. I appreciate the clear contempt the judge expresses and hope the government lawyers feel ashamed. Deep down. Assuming they still feel. Anything.

In my generation, it seemed like many of the trans-folk that I met had a military background. The reasons for that are complex but the bottom line is that they served their country honorably.

Wow, this judge is so spot on! She hits the nail on the head over and over. It is so clear that these orders are indeed "soaked in animus." But this is not yet the end of the story . . .

"Soaked in animus" has to be just about the maximum level of animus that is legally recognizable!

Certainly the sheer transphobia in "pronounc[ing] that transgender persons are not honorable, truthful, or disciplined" makes the president of the United States far outside plausible reality, in the realm of hate and prejudice, and yet we know it's because of who votes for him, his anti-trans vote was huge, more people voted against trans rights than there are trans people, unfortunately for them they have a certain other superpower coming up to show that his trans GF isn't just some gimmick, but we are in fact going to have an egalitarian society where trans people are recognized as who and what they are.

Who is the superpower with a trans GF? I'm aware of Elon Musk having a trans daughter but I assume GF means girlfriend so I assume this is in reference to somebody else and I'm curious who.

Granulocyte factor (GF) is a substance secreted selectively from the specific granules of granulocytes in the first minutes of adherence or phagocytosis. GF possesses many immunoregulatory functions. We applied flow cytometric analysis to evaluate the target cells responsible for GF action. ??????? Maybe????

Either way, thanks for the reply!

Wow. Keep 'em coming, judges! My primary worry is what happens when the Trump Administration ignores court orders.

Sets a basis for intermediate scrutiny and reapplies Bostock, very instructive for United States v. Skrmetti and future equal protection clause arguments. If it holds it’ll really help in these current times.(I am not a lawyer, just an avid and recent learner). Thanks Erin for your excellent and tireless work.

I have to wonder how long it will be until the Trump admin tries to remove Judge Ana Reyes in some way. I'm not a big Biden fan, but bless him for appointing her!
