Thanks for more great reporting.

This judge clearly has a decent grasp of newer science on gender. I love that judge Russell was unafraid to use in his ruling the term "cis-gender", something most conservatives loathe to be called. To take the analogy with Jim Crow further, many supporters of "separate but equal" chaffed at the idea that they would be identified as "white". They insisted that "We're just people", which inadvertently exposed their horrific view that black people were not fully human. The use of the term "cis-gender" does not demean people; it is simply a way to differentiate between two groups of human beings with very different identities.

I’m so pleased with this decision it’s the right thing to do for our country where everyone is equal and has the right to be left alone to follow there own feelings

However what concerns me is if this ever gets to the Supreme Court this conservative court will just allow this racist agender to continue

You won't hear an in-depth discussion about anything related to being transgender because we are an incredibly small minority and to be frank, Western society in general doesn't care about anything that is not affecting them personally. If someone else is being discriminated in anyway or even murdered, it doesn't directly affect their life so they don't care. As an example, Senator Joni Ernst from Iowa recently said after being confronted about medicare/medicaid cuts, "Well, we all are going to die," and then recorded a fake apology for her statement then next day from a cemetery of all places. That was her disdain for the general public. The disdain is even greater for us.

Unfortunately this favorable stuff will only last until this gets to the Supreme Court, which is almost certain to do the administration’s bidding on the issue. That is the way the administration can get anything it wants….just appeal it to SCOTUS and get the result it wants.

Thank you for sharing this! I am honored to live in the state where the federal judge made this ruling. Now, I’m just trying to determine if I should try and renew my passport now (it doesn’t expire until 2027 and has my chosen Female gender marker on it) or wait until it gets closer to 2027 and see what is going on then. Any insight would be appreciated 🙏

This is an example of where my interest in Erin's reporting is only to rubber stamp her own messaging. We all agree that the policy of the U.S. should be to stay in line with other countries with regard to this policy, Trump to my knowledge isn't really doing that, but there is a ceiling to his power, damn it, and the judge here is attempting to demonstrate that.

A moment of good news, of sanity, of actual justice from our limping justice system. Please, let it hold.

Thank you. I really needed some good news today. Especially after learning about the bans on Medicare and Medicaid funding all gender affirming care as seen in the recently released appropriations bills.
