There'll be fewer alive -- so -- that tracks.

I really have an incandescent hatred for Social Conservatives which I think they very well earn.

They want to abuse children with the child's sex. They are monsters.

Uh huh. And…. We can greatly reduce the number of cancer cases in the state by simply banning all cancer treatments.

The logic works, from a viciously twisted perspective, just as legally redefining language to make gender and sex strictly that as defined at birth will “eradicate transgenderism.” (Rendering us legally invisible doesn’t make us magically vanish, of course. For that we need a really thorough pogrom.)

I would say don't give them ideas, but they plainly already are ready to see if even that flies, at least in some states. Good thing this is America.

That was exactly my thought. And if we ban Medicare fewer people will need it. Same logic.

I emailed that jerk. I probably shouldn't have - pearls before swine and all. But I lost a child to suicide and I am devastated at the thought that this is the future for other Ohio families.

They're pretty open that they would rather have dead trans kids than live ones. For that matter, they're pretty open they would have have dead transgender people, period, than live healthy, happy transgender people.

The goal is to make our lives as miserable as possible in hopes we go back into hiding, detransition, or end our lives. They're just starting to speak the quiet parts out loud.

As a trans/nonbinary professor at a small college in Ohio, I'm gravely concerned for the impact this will make on our students, faculty, and staff. We have some single-use gender neutral bathrooms in academic buildings, but our residence halls will feel the brunt of this change. Through many difficult discussions with my trans students, I remind them they are valued members of our campus community and we will persevere, but I have a bit of a hard time coaching myself through these impossible times.

And if you ban cancer treatment, treatment of depression etc then cancer, depression will be "less of an issue".

I get the "logic". How stupid can stupid be?

No wonder they work as 'politicians' they would be too dumb for doing anything else.

Just like banning abortion resulted in less abortions…oh wait.

Ivy's avatar

It's incredibly ironic that abortions increased since Roe was struck down. There are multiple factors involved, my favorite unintended consequence is people rallying together to enable more providers and then the FDA allowing abortion drugs to be accessible via tele-health and mailing the drugs directly to patients.

If anyone wondered what slow motion genocide would look like if planned across incremental acts and staged in a punctuated equilibrium, wonder no more. Looking at the drag bans, school bans, care bans, bathroom bans, and other proposed legislation, at the current accelerated rate Ohio will have reduced its Trans population by 90% by Xmas 2025.

Here's the Buckeye State Final Solution!

1. Forcibly detransitioning and re-closeting Trans people in state institutions, schools, employment.

2. Denying legal recognition, public accomodations, employment protections, fair housing, and basic civil rights...will encourage emigration to other states or countries.

3. Criminalizing being visibly Trans in public by enforcing anti drag laws.

4. Forcibly detransitioning and re-closeting incarcerated Trans Americans, especially those incarcerated for being Trans. Make sure to prosecute Trans foreigners from blue states or Western democratic nations to teach the rest a lesson. Confiscate the assets of businesses protecting Trans employees and or levy confiscatory taxes upon them.

5. Initiate Florida and Texas style bounties on Trans people's heads. Pay informants to reveal Trans people in hiding from the law.

6. If necessary, temporarily declare martial law and invite all militias and paramilitary groups to "defend" the state against "Trans terrorists", encouraging mass murder. Offer bounties for bringing in people accused of Trans crimes, whether dead or alive. That ought to do it!

How to make the Ohio Reich Juden-frei!

Sorry, my fingers slipped, I meant to say, easy-peasy, how to "make the Ohio Reich Trans-free, cleansed pure of any Trans pollution, with 110% clean blood and soil, safe for blue eyed blond Republikkkan Jesus!

That's better!

My doctor says I have too much cynicism and irony in my diet, it's going to kill me even faster than the GOPMAGA Gestapo will.

I just laugh at her naivté!

I, too, live with these organized rants inside my head. In my heart I know there are multiple millions who are with us and yet we don’t seem to be able to organize. There are days when I wish to be deported because I just don’t belong here anymore and the thought of waiting more years for things to get better equals the rest of my life. My daughter is very young; in her 20s. She will never be anything but my daughter. I want life and peace for her. I will reach out to those in Ohio and ask what I can do. Each of us needs to share the news and stories to put human faces on “trans.” We are trans or non-binary ourselves and our families are trans families. We can’t consent to a caste system.

Republicans don't want to make Trans people a lower class or low caste citizen; THAT, we already ARE. They want to make us DEAD.

We must resist in every possible way, on behalf of every Trans and gender expansive person alive, who's ever lived, or yet to be born. We simply must.

Larry, it kinda does, doesn't it? I'm a very process oriented thinker/writer, familiar with punctuated equilibrium as a theory in evolutionary process, one I think is very useful. It occurred to me that in the ongoing identity development process of a political party, one incorporating constituent and epistemic changes in order to achieve a monstrous objective, say, a genocide, punctuated equilibrium as a model describing the strategic usage of change agents worked rather well, if disturbingly so.

Are there regulations (in Ohio at the moment) prohibiting colleges from replacing the gender-designated bathroom signs to nongender-designated signs? So that for example, “women’s restroom” becomes “all-gender access restroom” ? Don’t change what’s in the bathrooms—keep cost minimal (and get it done fast) and just replace the signs. And any one-person restrooms should also say “all-gender access”: if you want your “own” bathroom, then use one of those.

I imagine there would be tons of student volunteers to get the signs changed out.

The legislation specifically prohibits doing that.

Apparently, the legislation also prohibits gender neutral multiuser restrooms ((3) No institution of higher education shall construct, establish, or maintain a multioccupancy facility that is designated as nongendered, multigendered, or open to all) in general as well. If multiple people can use the restroom at once, it MUST be either designated only women/only men, under the trans exclusionary definitions defined within the bill.

Disney, you're correct, the anti-Trans healthcare bans have all protected the access for cisgender and Intersex persons to gender affirming hormones, blockers and surgery, and at any age...just not US. It's discriminatory AND hypocritical.
