They will take this all the way to the brink before actual murder. They’ll leave that to private citizens.

The rate at which the rhetoric is accelerating right now is sickening. I have a tween trans child and I am terrified for him.

What state are you in? What is their school situation like? Do they have supportive friends?

I’m in PA, and the R’s are starting to introduce bills here. I live in a conservative area with a lot of CNs and anabaptists so the environment in the whole county is hostile toward the LGBTQIA+ community, especially trans/non-binary/gender nonconformity people. School is a tossup; there are supportive teachers, but there are also a number of MAGA fascists promoting hate and racism in the classrooms.

I’m actively working with a coalition for trans youth in the state and we’re seeing how much of an uphill battle it is. We have a new dem governor, but it’s the state house and senate that is concerning. Things could turn fast here, especially with the introduction of anti-drag bills, school boards implementing anti-trans policies, and a bill to implement a statewide ban on trans people playing sports with their actual gender and forcing them to play based off their AGAB.
