Hopefully this helps other states.

I very much doubt it will budge the needle in other vehemently anti-trans Republican-led states. Thankfully the Montana Supreme Court can clearly see right through all the animus that these bills contain but other states' courts are not so rational.

Having lived in that neck of the woods for 14 years, I'd like to borrow a stereotypical colloquialism in response. Yeeee -Haaaa!! Even a glimpse of rationality, sanity, and respect for the actual science in these issues is a welcome change and gives me a big smile. May others have the courage, humanity, and appreciation of the law that this Montana judge does. I'm very happy for the Montana trans kids, those who love them, and their healthcare providers. Well done.

"They try to erase the biological reality of gender and sexual diversity to further a far-right gender ideology."

So right that it's the far right that have "gender ideology". They love to accuse trans people and their allies, but we actually have *science* rather than ideology. The extent of left-wing "gender ideology" is "Let people live their lives how they want, regardless of gender."

It is refreshing to read sane and calm judgement on these ridiculous bills

Yes good news, but what about Skirmetti looming in about a month and a half, and a likely loss for trans people? Also could a higher court overturn the MT ruling? Opponents of trans rights will stop at nothing. Always remember that.

We'll know when we know, and likely here at ErinInTheMorning first!

Until then I won't borrow trouble. Maybe get into it, just not borrow it. ;^)

Those who deny the existence of gender and concentrate on physical sexual characteristics have no imagination. They can't conceive of anything else.

The Montana Court keeps kicking the anti-trans legislation in the head it makes me think, "should I move there?" But the legislature being such dickheads makes me think "no". Shame, because my wife went to Montana for a master's course once and loved the place so it is someplace we would actually consider moving to otherwise.

My undergraduate work in Mississippi, not so much… Not so much at all. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Wonderful news!

I hope to productively, politely (relatively) invite all to comment further here:

For now, my reply to them is first on the list of comments when sorted for "new".

Throw their evil stupidity back in their very teeth!

And to beg of anyone who can, please, please, please locate a linkable source to the ACPeds member who was in the leadership of the church that tried to raise the dead by prayer?

I have no idea why I can not upvote Zozie above, but I would if I could.

Don’t have a direct link, but that info is all in the ACPeds google doc leak from 1-2 years back. But, you are thinking of “Dr.” André Van Mol. He’s a member of Redding CA’s Bethel church, an evangelical cult.

Surprisingly he is also a really shitty doctor. I trained in Redding, his patients were always the most terribly mismanaged when we admitted them to the hospital.

The court in Missouri actually did review the Safe Act and ruled that it was to remain in effect.

Missouri is insane and it’s difficult to stay on top of everything. I mean MoLeg has decided Amendment 3 which was voted on in ‘24 and passed is to be done away with because the voters are too stupid to understand how we voted. Same with minimum wage and paid leave. Passed to be enshrined into the state constitution, but MoLeg thinks they know better than how we voted. I’ve been here 50 years. This state is disgusting. Can’t leave because of hubs job and the insurance. It’s awful.
