“Biological males dressing in women’s clothing, wearing exaggerated female make up and/or exaggerated prosthetics meant to parody the female body type… are likely to create or contribute to a hostile environment for women contrary to System anti-discrimination policy and Title IX,”

I remember reading a while back that the fastest growing audience for drag shows was heterosexual (cis) women. Some of the women spoken to highlighted that one of the merits of going was to take inspiration from the queens’ makeup. Clearly an unmentionable threat that must be suppressed!

Isn’t it nice to see some judges standing for what’s right and just? It takes courage to be an actual caring human being in this day and age. BRAVO!

As a woman, I say that drag shows don't create a hostile environment. Frat parties often do; laws against abortion do; making universities stop reaching out to women and minorities to help build their student population do. Drag shows? naw.

So if executive orders cannot override the Constitution (good news), then maybe that can apply to passports as well - which to me are a much bigger issue than drag shows. As in, the equal protection clause should guarantee that trans people can have accurate IDs and passports that reflect who they are, as opposed to the current animus-filled policy that deliberately places the wrong gender marker on trans passports and thus exposes them to unnecessary danger?

Whew, they can still show Lady Ballers at Texas A&M too. This is a huge victory for Ben Shapiro and the Daily Mirror? No it’s Daily Wire I think, mirror would imply some sort of self reflection….. Wait what’s that Lady Ballers wasn’t banned? I believe there is a word for that what is it Double Penetration? No, it’s double standard.

It was actually a relief to NHRA(drag racing) as well because their attendance at Texas races had significantly dropped off.

I worked at Texas A&M for 8 years. My wife is an A&M graduate from their Masters Program. We are happy to see that Aggieland is going to be able to maintain these shows! The board does not speak for the students and staff of A&M. They speak for their pockets and the billionaires who line them.

It may have always been a conservative school, but it was also always a school where I saw free speech protected. Till this administration that is. This bloody administration has given the tight wads and pureist fascist a feeling of comfort that they do not deserve.

I hope that the students at A&M band together against the school board and demand better of them.

Good for this judge and for the plaintiffs! For decades ['ve read about preventable deaths occuring at fraternities all over this country, but not once have I read that a person suffered a preventable death at a drag show in the goof ole USA

This is an incredible win for first amendment rights and the student group. Based on the reporting it sounds like the university is more concerned with losing federal funding than it is supporting the students that go there. Given the show has gone on for the past five years, this definitely seems to be the case.

Ah, I remember the care-free days in the 1960's, when boys would dress up as girls for campfire skits at summer camp. How did we ever lose our minds as a society?

We did that at our summer camp too!! Such good memories. And note that this was at CHURCH camp (albeit a Quaker one in the 80s), where after the end-of-week talent show, no one was suddenly gay, trans or anything else they hadn’t been the week prior, except happier, carefree, invigorated, inspired and slightly sunburned. I miss those days so much it makes me cry.

Hello Erin. I don't know where else to write this so i am doing so here. I want to apologize for questioning your breaking story on the 9th Circuit's ruling on the Idaho bathroom ban. The ruling, by Dem appointed judges, was so devastating I simply couldn't accept it at the moment. There is still virtually no coverage of this hugely important event, so thank you for again bringing us the news no one else is covering.

The only thing surprising about this is that there are LGBTQ students at Texas A&M. (I mean, I can't even imagine being LGBTQ on that campus, let alone performing drag!)

Yabba Dabba Dooooo!! This is great and hopefully a start to Executive Orders being nullified. It is great to see the courts putting Trump in his place, but I worry about his buddies in the Supreme Court catering to his wishes.....
