They are obsessed with us. It's beyond creepy.

Worse, they knowingly use us to distract from real issues for which they have no solutions beyond tax cuts and unregulated corporations

I dare a single one of them to explain and justify the moral/ethical good or a single benefit there is to removing discrimination protections for a group of humans without sounding diabolical.

The fact so many people overlook these proposals like they deserve consideration or debatability continues to terrify me...

Unpopular, unprecedented, irrational, and unethical, but they might just do it anyway because Republicans need a minority to attack.

And this is what is so damn sick about this country: white, patriarchal society and the systems in play that support that.

Thanks for this update. I was curious if trans folks are considered disabled does that mean it's okay to ignore the rights of the disabled,?

Yes, they likely believe that.

Would that mean that trans people would be protected under the disability part of the act?

I have a hard time seeing any effort to define trans folks as disabled as anything but a step towards stripping civil rights protections from all disabled people, too. What other reason could there be for them to have tried to do that? They hate us, after all- they wouldn't try to put us in any protected social or political category unless they meant to use our inclusion in that category as a pretext for attacking someone else.

I smell the stinking corpse of eugenics rising from its grave.

Yes, mine too! If we live out of state we can, of course, write letters to anyone in congress/state or federal. We may not get a response, but we can and must write.

Extreme tight wingers want conformity and hate anything they think is deviant. They hate disabled people just as much as they hate trans people, for the same reasons.

Oh, there are so many folks that need some education and remembering! When we are born, we are human beings, homo sapiens, "born wise"! Before they slap a gender marker on our birth certificate the first thing that should be noted is that! We are human beings regardless of our gender/expression of deep gender. I'm so sick of all this "othering"; it gets us nowhere fast! When will we be able to look at another human being and say, "Hello! I see you and respect you!" When???

Another effort by the right to dehumanize people and declare them ineligible for the rights guaranteed every citizen. Trump's election has goosed every Republican from the local to federal level to prove their MAGA bona fides by proposing these hate laws.

"Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing." John Stewart Mill. Are there enough good people in Iowa? I feel like we are on a knife's edge of having enough good people here in Minnesota.

What is wrong with these people? I do believe they are so scared of trans people that they are becoming very dangerous. Arm yourself.

My response today to a member only story on Medium.com entitled "I did not choose to become a woman".

It has led me to a working theory of Trans-ness being cosmically ordained...to change the world.

************************

"I am in the processs of deciding how best to advance a working theory that the emergence of BEING TRANS-GENDER is both an awakening as we transit from the shadows of fear --as well as a Cosmically ordained evolution of humanity.

The former is fueled by the lab creations of synthetic hormones used in countless ways with unknown and often unintended consequences post World War II.

(THEN) New drugs like DES (Diethylstilbestrol, the first synthetic Estrogen) did in fact alter pregnant women's unborn fetus' as well as their DNA in a multi-generational fashion, an under-researched scientific area of study with countless implications, including accelerating the birth of 'girls with a penis'. and to a lesser extent, 'boys born with a vagina'. I am coming to appreciate that this may also be cosmically ordained in the sense that to evolve the world away from the post-Christ world of Patriarchal systems, we need a fusion of the divine (or healed vs toxic) masculine AND FEMININE-which is precisely what TRANS-ness provides, and thus BEING TRANS--we are the precursors to a more evolved, accepting, and inherently more HUMANE societal outlook and approach.

We- as Transgender pioneers, along with the histroically acknowledged "2-Spirit" souls who existed since the beginning of time, are literally GOING TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE."
