(2) Liberals are more likely than conservatives to treat trans people respectfully.
(3) Liberals are more likely than conservatives to wish death on conservative political figures and wish damage to right-wing fascist institutions.
(4) The "strong" correlations they report are actually rather weak. The weakest "strong" correlation accounted for only 5% of the variance in one variable by another. Their very large sample size made it possible to show statistical significance for even weak relationships.
Yes, they did a couple of bivariate analyses to remove the effects of self-reported political leanings, to show a supposed relationship between support for trans people and violent wishes towards right-wing targets. They also did a spaghetti-on-the-wall multivariate analysis. However, when your range of political ideologies spans from liberal to conservative, and the only things you're measuring are from the liberal end of the spectrum, you get sort of a GIGO effect (Garbage In, Garbage Out).
