“I knew Republicans were in trouble when they were running ads on and spending hundreds of millions of dollars across the country on transgender ads”

Yeah . . . that's really goddamn rich to hear coming from him!

Thank you for the reporting, Mrs. Reed.

As a trans and relationship witch, I bless him with itchy 🏀 🏈⚽️🥎🎱 for all the serious pain he has caused our community.

Still bummed the blue wave didn’t make it to Florida. I love my new state but miss home. I hope this is the whimpering end of Desantis’ political career

Happy to celebrate these results. Definitely positive steps. But it is going to take years to reverse the damage inflicted over the last ten years. Organizations like Alliance Defending Freedom and American Principles Project have blood on their hands.

Thank you Erin! And wow, a full admission that all of the harm, damage, and lives lost was just in service to a political scare tactic. An admission by one of the architects of the worst abuses in the nation.

Personally, I think our next step forward should be to lobby, and lobby hard, for an amended Equality Act (to correct its deficiencies and add enforcement) at the federal level.

This would undo the current harms still being imposed at federal, state, and local levels and would prevent future bills, ordinances, and rules from re-imposing those harms.

And to be clear. We've always said that the incursion into our lives was a harbinger of incursions into the lives of others and on that basis others should step into the fray with us. Arguably they did.

Putting our efforts into an Equality Act that also protects our allies seems to me the least we can do in return.

Thank you for your attention in this matter. 😉

Absolutely stunning! I was up until all hours watching the obviously Trump-hating crew at CNN gleefully bouncing around the stage and swapping the latest apocalyptic numbers, and that was fun to watch, but RD's attack on the political inefficacy of the Elephant Party's insane, costly demagoguery against boys who just wanna wear lipstick was, for me, the highlight of the last 48 hours. Thank you Erin, for all your superb reporting.

OMG! I can't stop laughing at the irony of DeSantis criticizing the GOP for targeting the transgender community.

It's nice to know that Trans-Americans have been at the vanguard of the movement that had ifnally defanged. the most destructive movement in American history in the past half decade.

Too funny. Blaming others for what your bigotted ignorance incited.

This "human" piece of garbage is right.

Personally, I think "Doing a Vance" flows more smoothly off the tongue than does "Doing a DeSantis."

But it's really up to you. Be quick. There are expected to be many more examples.

You're making me agree with DeSantis!

Listen, I'm just spit balling here but, hear me out, but maybe no one should tell the Republicans this? Maybe we should be telling them they should spend more [insert Kylo Ren "More!" meme here]. Let them keep hauling this one trick pony out indefinitely. Counterintuitive, I know but as Napoleon supposedly said, "Never interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake."

Only one problem: These ads harm the trans community. I'm tired of being the "whipping boy."

How self-serving of DeSantis to play "told-you-so" and labor so mightily to position himself as the Wise One for 2028. And how disingenuous. Regarding the (many) Democrats who won while betraying our community, I take a rare bit of hope by recalling that Obama initially opposed marriage equality, until, through contact with others, he evolved - which I think was his chosen word. Let's hope that - in a calmer, kinder, gentler period, with Trump neutered, these folks can take a breath and e-v-o-l-v-e too.
