Thanks for letting us know, Erin. I will immediately cancel Netflix if they go through with this. And I'll let them know why, too.

Maybe call them NOW and let than you currently subscribe because of their LGBTQ content, and appreciate their diverse programing! Being proactive can help.

Netflix stood by Chappelle’s harmful and transphobic speech in the name of freedom. Their response to this will truly reveal whether they were standing for freedom or transphobia

Who is leading the campaign to encourage Netflix to resist Musk?

That would be good for us to know so we can stand in solidarity and amplify our voices.

Correction: Will & Harper isn't upcoming, it came out in 2024. It's a quite good documentary, give it some views!

Honestly most anti-trans people should be forced to watch it and get a real experience of what "othering" can do to a person.

Same question! Would streaming paranormal park help at all? Or is there some way to contact Netflix directly?

As a minor note, I loved paranormal park and was sad when it ended prematurely

I think Netflix should take a cue from John Oliver. "Fuck you, make me."

For those asking about contacting Netflix - i just logged into my account in the app and went to my profile > Help and then there is a Call or Chat option. I did the chat and was able to get a "live" person in a couple minutes. I told them i supported their lgbtq content and hoped they keep making it for representation.

With individual liberty and equal justice for all people.

*Except Trans People

Dear reader: If you can’t defend trans people at least stand up to defend human rights that we all share together.

No matter who you or I am, we all must defend each other‘s individual rights, as if our own, because they are.

Sigh. I've been expecting something like this, but I was hoping my expectations wouldn't come to pass. Let's hope Netflix stands by its content and diverse storytelling. We need to have our own public pressure campaign to counter Musk's. And we can't let them forget that some of their most popular original programming is that which contains trans and queer characters.

This is typical BULLSHIT from the conservative bigots, racists, and homophobes. I wonder how many of these holy conservatives who profess to be g-d fearing people even read the scriptures

I will defend Jamie Clayton with the rabid energy of a trans woman who has similar proportions to her and therefore is inspired by the fact that she looks so incredible because it means I can aspire to it as well.

I'm thinking of signing up again for Netflix to counter this boycott, but I'd sure feel like a sucker if I did so and then they caved.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, but they were already on thin ice with me due to the Chapelle and Gervais BS. It's part of the reason I currently don't subscribe to them.

I'd rather have them keep ALL the content, even Chappelle, if it means allowing/keeping Free Speech on their platform. I'm willing to subscribe again, especially now that I've canceled Disney+, Hulu, Paramount....

The absolute hypocrisy from the right about the first amendment is sickening and not at all surprising. The silver lining (if we can find silver linings during this shitshow, however small, we absolutely should) is I can potentially use events like this in conversations with my "non-political" acquaintances as an example of how the right is pro-censorship, pro-big goverment, pro-government overreach. Hopefully use it to change hearts and minds since it is a very clear cut example of censorship that your average Joe might respond to.
