I need to conserve some energy because there will come a day when there will be graves to dance on and I’m going to wear out some shoes dancing on that fucker remains!
Might want to make it a pair of easily-hosed-off galoshes instead. Y'know. On account of all the dogs people will be walking through the graveyard to leave them 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴.
I wish they would just go ahead and shoot us all. Why are they waiting? Do the MAGAs just derive too much sexual gratification from the anticipation of committing genocide against us?
I feel sorry for them, their lives are so empty yet mine is so full of sorrow and grief. Perhaps they could go ahead and kill us all. I would welcome the peace.
I notice they no longer pretend to be perpetuating this war against us for our good or any rational societal good any longer... it's really just about the extermination and eradication now.
Please don’t let these haters steal your joy. I’m confident those who love you would be devastated by your loss. Most Americans are on your side. We just need to figure out how to fight back.
Jaimie, Good comment and I certainly sympathize with the sentiment. As you say, it has gone beyond merely restricting us and is moving toward rounding us up and shipping us off to secluded camps. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? I, for one, don't intend to go quietly. The 2nd Amendment was written for just such eventualities.
I found this post by a beautiful and wise trans woman named Jaimie Hileman, from back on February 11. I thought I'd share it back to you on this day in which you are feeling weak and questioning the future. I think her words are powerful:
To all Transgender Americans, nonbinary persons, and gender expansive folk:
PLEASE look out for each other. The surest sign of winning and the best most visible way of making our eventually inevitable victory over injustice manifest is for as many of us as possible to survive this era of weaponized ignorance, unchained stupidity, malicious misinformation, grotesquely anticipatory obedience, and psychopathic cruelty pretending to be a mashup of conservatism and Christian.
I'd like to share these words:
“We need as many as possible of us to survive, alive, and thrive.
If some have to temporarily detransition to survive, we will help.
If some of us fall down, others will pick us up.
If we feel hopeless, we will reach out, because we know there'll be someone there to answer.
We can LIVE, because we're not alone.
And when we're flush and well, we can look to pay it forward.
We can do this because we are resilient and transcendent.
We are too beautiful to surrender, too stubborn to die.
This is my “Road Prayer”, a call for hope, for all of us. It's going to be a long trail and difficult, but we've survived hard journeys before, and besides, we have no choice but to walk it. But I wouldn't want to walk it with anyone other than you, my transplendent Trans and queer sisters, brothers, and siblings.
Pax.”
Be well, my sister. Hold your beautiful cat close, and as it purrs, think of us all in a shared embrace.
Jaimie, this is a totally understandable reaction, which most of us probably feel from time to time (I certainly do - every word of it). But we must not give in.
I offer my book (Hanna's Ascent - you can find it featured on my website https://jaynasheats.com/) that is very much intended to counter these feelings; coming from a time when they were much more common still. But here's my hope for you today: listen to Alan Cumming in this monolog - it's really worth it. Even for a few minutes of uplift. You need that to continue the battle that we're in.
Jaime…. I hope for you some joy today… big or small… it is there! You just need to find it! Turn off your electronics and take a walk! Detach for a bit or for awhile! 😘🥰😍We will fight for you!
Please don't say things like that. There is so much gerrymandering and voter restriction in Texas. There are many, many Democrats in Texas. They aren't, "Getting what they deserve!" Hourly and poor working Democrats can't wait in line for 10 hours to vote as the state shuts down many polling places in blue areas so that everyone in a large area have to go to one place to vote. I lived in Texas my whole life until 2021 when I finally left. I had the money to leave. I voted Democrat the whole time as did all of my friends. Also, not everyone can afford to leave the state to get away from this persecution. It is a very privileged statement to make.
I do agree with you there. A Democrat who was anti-trans was primaried in Houston by a trans supportive Democrat who won the primary and ended up winning the seat. It was a great day. There are so many old school Democrats who need to be replaced! I have always voted in all elections. However, I have seen other states try to put them all together instead of spread out through the year so that people will vote in the local and the primaries more. The school board elections seem to be the most important in Texas. In Texas, it seemed like local elections were never well publicized and you really had to pay attention to find out when they were. Also, I have a long time friend who didn't know that you could vote in a primary and the final election. I was shocked that she thought that. I don't remember learning anything about elections in school. I had to find out that info form myself. Probably how they want it!
Not everyone has the privilege of moving away (or voting). Just because there are awful people in a place, doesn't mean you can condemn all those already suffering under those awful people to 'deserve what they get'. Doing so only makes it clear you don't care about those struggling against tyrants, just what happens to said tyrants (even if they likely won't be harmed by events, only those already struggling will be).
Yes, as much as we detest and condemn the winning political forces of the red states, we should remain person-specific with our contumely. The analogy to the Nazis comes back again - everyone was represented from hardcore SS to active life-risking resisters. I wish we weren't moving toward that here, but...
And this, folks, is why you don't comply in advance. All it does is tell the Nazis that you're afraid of them, and they can go ahead and bully you because you won't fight back.
You might want to change the title, because with the line break between "Adult Swim" and "League", it sounds like a league related to a certain TV programming block on Cartoon Network.
I need to conserve some energy because there will come a day when there will be graves to dance on and I’m going to wear out some shoes dancing on that fucker remains!
Again! 5-6-7-8!
👍🏼 (warming up…. we will want to be warmed up…) 👍🏼

Texas what can I say
How anybody can live in that state is beyond me -if they keep electing these hypocrites, homophobes, and racists they deserve what they get

What you say is true - but I still believe that people can still change things in Texas
More people need to vote in local and state elections otherwise nothing will ever change in Texas

If no one knows about the local elections When it’s the fault of the Democratic Party they should be making it known

Did we just completely miss that US Olympics banned trans women yesterday?
Disgusting misuse of power. I know where I won’t be spending a dime.
I am Texit’s biggest supporter. Gtfo already
