I just don't understand why these democrats are deciding to come out as evil. Nobody is sitting around with the only thing holding them back from voting democrat being that they felt like dems needed to be a bit more Hitlery to trans people.
"The Democratic incumbent for Florida’s 14th Congressional District, Rep. Kathy Castor, was all smiles last week as she threw transgender Americans under the bus."
Well then, it is incumbent on us to make it impossible for her to be or remain an incumbent.
Every Gender Critical/Social Conservative person is a child abuser, so is Rep. Castor. It is fair for anyone to insist the athletic advantage produced by systemic high testosterone for an athlete who has it is medically reduced appropriately per the history and science involved* (IOC policy from 2004 ~ 2022) before they participate in "women's" or "girl's" sports . . . which has no applicability to a transgender girl benefitting from puberty blockade from start of Tanner 2, and that requirement applies equally to any athlete with any intersex condition.
* Not what Castor or apparently near anyone is talking about.
Seth Moulton's whole Senate primary campaign in Massachusetts basically boiled down "Edward Markey is old" and "trans girls are biological males". I'm glad he lost, and he will never get my vote for anything. Gavin Newsom is at the absolute bottom of my list of 2028 Democratic candidates for president, for so many reasons. And I'm adding Kathy Castor to the list of terrible Democrats, not so much for the comment as for the glib, dismissive tone of it.
James Talarico made one unscripted comment about surgery for minors during a debate. Would I rather he hadn't done that? Of course I would. Would I still vote for him over Ken f'ing Paxton if I lived in Texas? Of course I would.
I make a personal evaluation of each candidate. How bad are the policies they're advocating? How dehumanizing is the language they use? Were the comments made in response to a question at a debate, or were they aired in an ad? What state or district do they live in, and how bad is their opponent?
I understand the risks. I have family in the UK, where Labour is just as bad as the Conservatives (though not as bad as whatever party Nigel Farage is leading these days). I absolutely do not want the Democrats to sell us out and turn into the TERF party. But I also don't want stupid purity tests to let the Republicans keep any shred of power.
I will enthusiastically support some of the candidates on Erin's list, even if they're not perfect on trans issues but they still treat us as human. I'll probably grit my teeth and support a few candidates in red districts, even if they have views on trans issues I strongly oppose. But I'll withhold my support from candidates who dismiss us and laugh at us and treat us as less than human.
They are coming out as anti-trans now so if the dems under perform in November they'll scapegoat support for trans people as the reason they under performed.
Trans women are not “biologically male”. Medical transition changes sex. It may be incomplete, but please DO NOT assume it does nothing. Asking about “biological male” is a vile and derogatory question in the first place. Rules proposed for us should not carry this assumption.

They are in variable degrees uneducated and/or evil opportunists seeking power.

Thank you for the reporting, Baum.
There are degrees of anti-trans views.

Oh, gross. Back when I lived in the "Free State of Florida" (puke) I actually voted for that traitor.
I hope she loses!!
We need all Democrats to adopt the wisdom of AOC. Work.

I completely agree with her message in all respects.
That’s my rep. Goddammit.
